New panorama app to play with, and it's free! Great interface, super easy to make nice shots. Sadly the images aren't very sharp, at least the ones I've taken so far. Definitely worth the download: DerManDar (whatever that means).

Doing another "photo tag" game on a local motorcycle forum. People take turns taking photos in notable places, the next guy has to match. This is the Dutch Windmill in Golden Gate Park.
Went for two day-long rides this weekend. This morning met up with a friend and his homie, we patrolled the North Bay like dudes after grabbing coffee in the city.

Any of you guys using that new "social" Hipstamatic app? You can spend money on it of so desired, but I'm more than fine with the free one.

I got that shit, start a "Holiday" camera with it or something, I'm down.
Also, this Olloclip fisheye lens is the shit! Behold this artsy fartsy picture of a coworker.
Once I can get out and about again in a couple weeks wanna do some shitty social photosharing? It'll be fun. Pick a "theme" then we get a day or so to take pictures on said theme, then "develop" and see what's up. The amount of pictures we take depends on how many people are in on it.
I think it could be a lot of fun!
Of note: "high quality" is an option in the OS settings menu... do it!

Some iPhone pictures I snapped today. Bay Area December is turning out quite well. Chilly, mind.
I dig the 3rd one a lot. Is that Hipstamatic, or some shoops?
Third shot is a combination of apps. 1) Dermandar to snap a wide pano shot. 2) Pixlr-o-matic for giving it a Hipstamatic-like look. Pretty cool filters available and it even has an option to randomize the filter combo (at least on iPhone--Android version doesn't have randomize yet).
Randomize is where it is at. I still dig having no idea what is going to happen.
True that. Spent some time with my brother for Christmas and he wanted to find something similar to Hipstamatic for his Android phone. For those that are interested, he found two solid apps: 1) Pixlr-o-matic and 2) Vignette.
Pixlr-o-matic has a great interface and nice filters. Sadly no randomize filter on Android (which is what my brother really wanted). The other bummer is that the filters are canned--as in, if you use the same filter you get the same effect every time. With Hipstamatic, there's a lot of variation possible with the same filters.
Vignette has a shitty interface but tons of options and DOES have a randomize option. I didn't mess with this one much because it's not on iPhone but looks like a legit option for Android users. Definitely better than some other filtered photo apps I've seen out there.
(P.S. Confession, that third photo from above wasn't randomized, I chose the effect. Shhhh.)

Learned something cool today: You can take macro photos with an iPhone using a drop of water on the lens. Gets much, much close shorts than even the Olloclip in macro mode.

Bu-bu-but artsy fartsy.
For a while there it was interesting and different. Now a photo without filters is interesting and different.
It's too bad, because I like the filters sometimes... but fuck it.
