I know i'm being 15 years old in 1998 for Shining Force III scenario 2 and 3, but humor me.

I'm seriously like irl sad about this.

Hear me out. Mega Man Legends 3 was a fan project in the first place. It was meant to be created by fans for fans. The reason it was cancelled was because they just didn't think Mega Man will sell. Remember the whole the whole "Capcom thinks the US doesn't like Mega Man" nonsense around the Udon book? Well, probably not, because you weren't paying attention, because if you do like Mega Man, you were complacent. We all were. We thought Mega Man would live forever just because. Even after awful games and that terrible Mega Man X series (UGH, THE ANGST), we still love Mega Man. Except Yoshi, but it's because he doesn't love anything.

THIS. LIKE THIS. LOOK. I DON'T CARE IF IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK. It's either going to peter out or it's going to gain momentum and crush everyone. Even if Capcom is all butts, this is the best potential marketing ever aside from giving drugs to kids and then telling them they can get more of that. Tell yo kids, tell yo wife, because MAYBE. MAYBE IT COULD BE THE FIRST TIME THIS EVER WORKS. Because if it does get anywhere close to 100,000, someone will pay attention. Maybe they'll be like Nintendo and say, "We never say "never", but LAWWWWWWWWL! Thanks for being such great fans! IDIOTS." Or...
Maybe this was the plan all along... Inafune announces it, quits out of nowhere, and then Capcom builds everyone's hopes up, just to dash them against the rocks. WHY? BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ENOUGH LOVE. And then... Everyone cries. and they cry forever. And they cry so much, they flood the world with their tears.
And then a wise old man at Capcom, perhaps even Takasachamaki-san, goes, "Puhaps... we can listen to theiya teayas. Puhaps. We will welease Wock Man. Dashuu. Tcshree." and that's what they were planning to do all along. but you had to prove them wrong. you had to show how much you wanted this to happen.
i want it to happen more than any video game ever, even more than Mario 2, which is the single best video game ever. i want it to happen so much that i don't care if my life is insignificant on an infinite scale of time and space, because for a brief moment in my life, i want to play Mega Man Legends 3. I want to help Tron and Roll build a rocket to get Mega Man off the moon.
If this even gets to the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype phase again, i'll be so happy. i will buy it for Yoshi and for Compass, because maybe they will find the love the i see deep inside of it. If it comes out for real, i will buy Yoshi and Compass the real copy of the game. and i will find a way to get to your house and personally give it to you, if i have to ride my bike across the whole nation. This. I swear.

What's a blockbuster game? I don't even know what that's supposed to mean any more. I spend more time and have more fun with indie and download stuff than I do with the $60 retail releases. The gaming industry is fracturing pretty hard right now, and lots of good stuff is bubbling up. It's just that very little of it come from the traditional big publishers.
I mean seriously, the next retail game I care about is in September. The next download game is Shadow Planet, and I'm wishing I had time for Bastion. Gaming has changed, and as far as I'm concerned it's for the better, but the old idea of the blockbuster triple-A title is vanishing quickly.

the next title i'm really looking forward to is Catherine. and that Desu Konami Flying game. I'm broke, so i can't get them now, but i will. Maybe i was wrong about EVERYTHING.
Otomedius is September. You've got time to save up.
And then wonder how to afford Solatorobo a couple weeks later.

I agree with James but HEY JAMES THIS IS ABOUT BRINGING BACK MML3
Why do they crap out like 20 StarForce games that no one but me and one other person in the universe have ever played, but they can't make a THIRD Mega Man Legends?
Because Megaman Pokemon is bound to be a major hit, if they just throw out enough anime and manga tie-ins. An action game, though? Nobody likes awesome any more. Awesome requires skill, and therefore limits your demographic far too tightly.
