I like AC2 enough that I still pop it in to play for a while every now and again, and I wanted to grab Brotherhood for the MP if nothing else. But I can understand why the games don't get much love, I felt pretty much the same about the first game.
We found out more about the Reavers, stopped an invasion and a cooperative venture they were having, saw and stopped another type of Reaver, have possibly formed a Geth army that will stand against the Reapers, started/stopped a Geth war that could be unwinnable for the Quarians, and given/destroyed a Reaper that could be used against the invasions. There's at least as much if not more that happened in the second game than the first.
I do hope the Rachni come back in ME3, I saved them on my good character and they weren't mentioned at all in ME2 from what I remember.I really like AC2 but I still haven't gotten Brotherhood yet.Quote:

I gassed the ever loving fuck out of them to try and impress Wrex so it won't matter to me. He didn't seem to even give a fuck too much.
The AC games are OK. I really like the setting and style the game presents itself, but the mechanics really stink. For a sandbox game they need to expand on the capabilities of you as an assassin and the interaction with the items around you. I did enjoy some of the Da Vinci objects and I even went so far as to rebuild my home in AC2. I was looking forward to the post-modern version of the game (such as climbing massive sky scrapers, base jumping, etc) but it always seems like they're coping out with these other releases still set in medieval times.
Wait and see. Someone gave me Brotherhood but I'm going to just trade it in for another game later on.
Yeah, I didn't expect anyone to disagree.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the game. But the fact remains that we're in exactly the same position at the end of ME2 as we were at the end of ME1.* And even though 90% of Mass Effect 2 was dedicated to team-building, I'm pretty sure that we're going to have to do it all again in the next one.
*except the Geth might like us a little bit more!
edit: And that Shadow Broker stuff! That one piece of DLC is more relevant to ME3 than the entire main campaign.
Only in terms of the Reaper threat. Everything else has changed.

Friendship is Magic. It was awesome, but since you're judging story progression solely by if the Reapers are stopped then Shadow Broker did absolutely nothing.Quote:
