Do you want games to be considered and treated like toys or not? If not, it's time to grow up with them.
the world before us crumbles, but Yoshi will draw the line. Burn the houses, bridges, farms and families. But don't make him use USB3 to transfer data when playing games
Everyone expects to be entertained in exchange for money that is just as green for any other hobby or any other activity that requires it. You wouldn't accept bullshit from a kayak making business any more than you should accept it from a video game business. How is that a foreign idea?
Bullshit is relative, and weighed against the benefits. I'd put up with some bullshit from the kayak maker if they made a really good kayak that I really wanted at a good price.
Everyone assigns values differently. I cannot think of a single instance of perfection. So if the good outweighs the bad, monetarily or otherwise, I am OK with that.
So for some, Kinect required is a deal breaker. And that is fine. For me, if the system has a handful of games I want to play, I am Ok. If there aren't, then hell with it. It really isn't that hard.
Diff beat me, again.
if xbox one does some shit i don't like, I won't buy it.
I'll go in a different direction with 'ic's just toys' comment. I don't need toys so badly that I will put up with the slightest bit of bullshit. I don't need to pay someone a premium to entertain me in any other way than I want to be entertained. This is the fucking US. We have thousands of ways to be entertained.
Even if you think games are art, or have the potential to be art, nothing changes about my stance. There are millions of artists in this world. I can choose to give any of them money. I don't have to buy a $300+ system and a $40+ game to promote art. I could just as easily go to a bar, buy a cd from the local band or some other such activity.
