I'm dead serious, I would have probably gotten a One instead of a PS4 and played it more than I have.

It's kinda funny and sad.
Microsoft packages in their camera, everyone bitches about how they don't want it.
Sony sells theirs separately, can't meet demand and idiots pay upwards of triple retail to get one.
Meanwhile, both are fairly useless.
Without the Kinect, which I already found no value in, in the technical department it's a watered down PS4. It would live or die on its exclusives alone, which right now do not seem compelling. For me, they were in a lose-lose situation the moment they announced the specs and pricing.
I don't know. Forza is a better exclusive racer because you know, it's on the market. Killer Instinct is the only exclusive fightmans game, and I have the biggest nostalgia boner for it. There is rumored Platinum deals that would probably be announced around E3.
Meanwhile my PS4 gets turned on when I want to watch Netflix, or play whatever free game got put out for PS+ that month.
The market really just needs one of them to peace out, they're too redundant and neither is making the money necessary to put up an argument for staying in the game. Retailers shouldn't have to carry 9 versions of the same fucking game.
Everyone wants nintendo to go third party because their hardware "sucks" but at least they offer shit I can't do on three other platforms.
PC/SONY/Nintendo. That's all we need.
And yes yoshi, I realize sony and nintendo could peace out too and you'd be thrilled.
We need Sony and Microsoft competing against each other. We've seen what happens to each when they become complacent.
My XBL sub runs out in July, I'm pleased that I'll still be able to watch HBO Go on my 360.
The problem with Microsoft is they aren't proactive in any of the important areas. You can't get my business if you wait until after I buy your competition to create a package I want.
Had they announced the One the way it will be in a few months I would have bought it instead probably. Of course now the real question is whether Sony can counter this with something meaningful as well, say media playback from external storage?
but they aren't competing against each other. They're competing against themselves. The only way to get exclusives, since neither really has the inhouse development environment necessary, is to money hat other developers. But we've reached the point where that hat needs to be so big and full of money that the rate of return is nil.
Both PC and Nintendo are there to keep sony on its toes. PC has the tech advantage, Nintendo has the...mom I want mario advantage.
$399 and kinect-less
it's a shame this is still what the electronics section of your favourite store is going to look like, sans kinect on the box
