That's every video game machine to me.

A 139 page thread about a system that the most of the posters don't own and don't seem to want to own. Anyway, I tend to agree with a lot of the criticisms...the console is underpowered, more expensive than its arguably superior competitor, and MS has maintained some goofy policies while simultaneously offering up poor and/or confusing messaging...when they're not reversing themselves. This will not be an easy gen for them, and it's hard to see X1 lasting for a 6-7 year cycle (it won't - - good). All that said, I got one early on, and haven't regretted it all. I've played good games on it (its primary purpose), and the ever-improving OS is actually very slick - - voice commands, snapping apps and TV, etc. It actually all works very smoothly and is sort of impressive - - I've been playing my 360 lately, and it seems very primitive by comparison in many ways. I still submit that without Kinect, the whole box becomes less appealing (again, unless you absolutely must play Halo). Maybe MS will still put it to interesting use, but with the market splitting, I assume Kinect will remain relegated to some mediocre waggle games. Too bad, although it still works nicely with the OS.
Edit: Also, Super Time Force released today on it. I'm surprised more of you aren't playing/talking about it, especially since it's on 360 as well, and is identical on that platform (minus the slick DVR feature).
It's a curiosity more than anything. Why does this thing exist?
You know the answer.
Well put. I also enjoy my One and don't regret buying it at all. I play it all the time and like you said the OS is pretty damn good now. I only use my Kinect for voice commands though. Which I really like for video. But I could live without it.
I picked up Super Time Force. Not sure how I feel about it yet. The time mechanic could make things a bit repetitive.
True story, that's probably true for most of the larger threads in GD, since Josh posts more on the other boards.
The Dead Thread is 147 pages long. We all must really want to die.
It is inevitable that we will all die, but we won't all die with an Xbone.
