They wear down from plastic on plastic grinding. Most of them are broken because of kids and Mario Party.
I had the foresight to keep any used ones in good condition that came by my store way back when. If you just use them to play normal games they'll last forever. My launch controller is fine still.
Looks like Rare lost a few more employees after KSR.
It's kind of sadder than when I usually see these sort of layoffs because it's almost like kicking a mortally wounded animal which reminds me of this hilarious video:

There's a lot potential reasons why KSR probably didn't perform as well as they hoped such as not being more budget friendly, not having a whole lot of content, and having been better off at launch to sell the Kinect but I just hope to see the studio back on their feet with a non-Kinect game whether it be on a Rare IP or a new one.
Just make Battletoads, Rare. No more kinect, only dreams.
Battletoads would be a good start mini project I suppose, can't be too hard to fuck that up.
You do realize that "today rare" has about as much to do with " battletoads rare"as "today atari" has with "arcade atari," right?
Sure. They've got the rights though.
You think the kinect stuff was a choice?
