Official PlayStation 4 Thread

One of the reasons Sony stated that they were going to start charging for online play is that they were going to make PSN faster and more stable. But it still took me around 90 minutes to download Costume Quest 2 for PS3 (the most recent thing I've purchased from PSN) and here we are looking at ANOTHER multi-day PSN outage (for some people).

It's still free on PS3, slugger. If you were Sony, where would you prioritize bandwidth?

edit: Of course, you should have gotten Costume Quest on PC, so console wars become quaint quickly.

Regardless of what system you're downloading on, PS3 or PS4, SEN is dog fucking slow. My internet connection maxes out at about 60+ Mbits a second, and downloading from SEN never even comes CLOSE to using that. I can download a 5 gig file in like 8 minutes, on SEN that's going to be a good couple of hours. On Nintendo's side of things it'll only be slightly faster than SEN, but its still not coming close to using the bandwidth I have. Both of them need to improve that shit. (can't say on the MS side as I don't have a One and I haven't downloaded anything for my 360 in years.)

Yeah, I'm sure the PC version of Costume Quest 2 is vastly superior. What was I thinking?

I've gone all digital this generation, and for me, downloading games to my PS4 is way, way faster than the Xbox One. Same for some of my coworkers.

So, it's not any sort of conclusion which service is better in that regard.

I can't speak for the One, but from what I have experienced on PS4, I am more than happy on the DL speed.

I've had 30 Meg Verizon fios for years. All of the sites are slow as shit. Everything averages around 3.5 meg of download speed. I may as well just have 15 Meg service.

I'm downloading Shadowfall now. It's running between 200k and 1.5 meg right now.
