I don't spritz. My perfumes actually last FOREVER because I press down gently on the nozzle and get a drop onto my finger tip. I put one dab behind my ears and another dab on either my arm or legs. Why? Because if you put it on a moving body part it'll get into the air gently. And honestly I give no fucks what any TNLer says when women have constantly told me I smell good.

I haven't worn cologne in close to a decade, and I never miss it.
I do sometimes use ladies antiperspirant, though, because it actually works, and unlike just about every hygiene product for men, it doesn't smell like air freshener or cleaning products.
I don't use antiperspirant deodorant, just the normal kind. Antiperspirant makes my underarm hurt.
I use unscented michelin antiperspirant. The gel. Dries fast, no weird perfume smell, actually works on me. No weird white powder.
I almost never wear perfume, but when I do it's just a small dab of this essential oil that smells good. Wrist, behind the ear. It's mild, and last for a long time.
So I'm growing my hair out and I am trying to adjust to the whole extra length of time with: washing, rinsing, brushing, drying. Any long haired tnlers have any pearls of wisdom for me?

Don't blow dry, and don't really use any heat styling on your hair unless you're using a hair protectant. When your hair starts to get long, the natural oils produced on your scalp don't really reach the ends, so the heat will really make the ends brittle. Deep conditioning or a hair mask is recommended on the ends periodically. Washing your hair too often will dry it out.
When you really start to get some good length going, braid it as often as you can, especially before bed. I've found that braiding helps retain moisture, and just keeps it in good condition in general. My hair often drives me nuts if I don't contain it in a braid before going to bed.
I don't know how thick or dense your hair is, but mine is ridiculously dense/thick and every time I go to a hair stylist they try to thin it out for me. Thinning it out makes it far more manageable and lighter, but the growing out process sucks because you will have many different lengths, and don't let them use that damn razor tool - they cause a lot of split ends.

I picked up a Wahl Peanut for $50 and I'm pretty happy with it. It cuts close enough that I can use it on my face, and it has a nice long heavy-duty power cord.
I'll never go back to cordless clippers/trimmers. The batteries just go to shit after a year or so.
I love that thing. I lost mine somewhere and replaced it with a wahl cordless.
Rated E gave some good advice with the no blow drying. But I thought I'd add that you should really get a nice big-toothed comb to run through it after showers, let it air dry a bit before you use a bristle brush, helps keep tangles to a bare minimum.(I personally hate the metal prong brushes.) Also, if you want to speed up the growing process a bit, you should trim the ends every 2 months or so, even if they don't look very split yet. If you get split ends a lot/start to have unreasonably dry hair, the aussie conditioners work best.Quote:

I'd like to add that japanese cherry blossom lotion is the best thing ever. I like scented lotions more than perfumes and only spray perfume in my hair, and rarely at that, because it's less choking and irritating to me than anywhere on my skin. But scented lotions are the perfect balance and serve another purpose, moisturizing.
