I think I fought Kokujin in ranked last night. It was laggy as fuck and skipping all over but he didn't seem to have much trouble with his Genei-jin combos.
i will forever look down on people that prefer prior SF3 music to Third Strike's music, but yeah those backgrounds are nothing to fuck with

Weird. I remember 2I having a much cleaner look. 3S got more pixelated for whatever reason. Maybe they would have to just shrink them down? The vertical height of the backgrounds were still in 2I you would see for certain supers like Akuma's kick one. Look how much cooler the Twins' or Sean's backgrounds were.

I hate MvC3's matchmaking with a passion and I've still played almost 1000 matches.

Saw this video while looking for good matches to watch, holy balls at the Urien.
I can muster up tons of passion, the more hypocritical the better, at the drop of a hat. I just really like being angry about things.
To be honest if they do rig it so more people who use quick match are actually creating matches than what is happening right now, it could tweak it enough to just be ok. Most people will wait and see what the connection is like before accepting a match nowadays. I would prefer the option to search for a list or create a match myself, but I guess that's asking for way too much at this point.
In a recent iplaywinner interview with seth, he talked about how they really plan to start having a unified online feature set for their games, and that right now they just have different teams "competing" (ie: all of them sucking in one way or another) for the best online stuff between games.
So the King of Crap Mountain gets to decide all future online modes for Capcom fighters for this "uniform" magic?
Just...gah.
No, they'll work together to develop a unified system where everyone gets what they want because their resources aren't stretched between three games at once.
I mean, ideally that's what would happen.
It just stinks that nobody on the current teams took a minute to play online and think "Hey, a lot of people are probably going to complain about how crappy we did this, didn't one of our other teams do it better in another game? They did, right? Hey guys on team B, can we use that code real quick? Thanks bro!"
The fact that it probably works perfectly in Japan 100% of the time because they're all on one island with stupid-fast internet doesn't help our cause.

All of us assholes bought it already, so what incentive do they have to fix it? We've proven that we'll eat up whatever they give us. We'll buy their next game and complain about its netcode, too.
Less people playing is less people to buy their stupid DLC costumes and revisions. It's definitely in their best interest to keep people interested through good matchmaking.

I even accidentally picked Alex for a fight. I was like "oh shit". But I kicked some dude's ass anyway. I was even able to pull off his giant flying whoobajoob. In fact that was all I was able to pull off since it was the only input command shown at the select screen.
Fun times.

Yes. It's well-known. Cannons say it's either non-existent or not a big deal. I've seen it happen live at tournaments and thought it was me. Justin or Yipes (forgot who was commentating) called it out as it happened. There's a reason most players just pick the training stage.
The PS3 version of SF4 was pretty lacking. SSF4 is much better. I've never noticed issues with slowdown.
MVC3 is different. But that game runs on different tech.
I'm pretty sure SSF4:AE is fine, but Marvel isn't. If I pay $60-80 just to attend your tournament you should put some of that cash to some used 360s and not be assholes. I don't care how many PS3s you bought over time.
I've always been a Happ guy. The only Japanese style stick/buttons I've ever used are on the DC Agetec stick.

I think the parts in the SE Sticks would be comparable to the Agetec DC stick. Not Sanwa but japanese style and decent enough for a beginner.

I tried some ranked matchmaking yesterday for the first time since release day. Why does it always connect me to "yellow" or "?" connections?
I think I had maybe one or two "green" connection matches in the dozen or so I played, and even then, "green" matches didn't run nearly as well than the TNL games we've been running.
I don't get why ranked games run so poorly but our TNL rooms run fine.
