Halo 4

Haven't had much time to play yet but if you see me on send an invite, I'll come if I can. Mostly only played 4v4 slayer and a few 8v8 last night with a local friend. I'm at like level 18 but I've also had double XP the whole time so far.

Already like it a lot better than 3 or Reach.

Do you like it more because its better, or because the XP treadmill is like crack-cocaine to a gamer?

I still remember being max level in COD4 and thinking "this game doesn't seem as good as it did before." Then I prestiged.

The XP treadmill is appealing, I won't lie, but even without it I'd take this over 3 and Reach easily. I did play a ton of 2 though and I'm not sure I'd rank this above it yet.

The perks of gaining experience aren't nearly as drastic as a game like CoD, it seems more supplementary than anything. You can unlock nearly all of the tactical and armor perks within a few hours of playing, and all of the guns you would want even sooner. This may change once the specializations start coming into play, but the unlocks are not nearly as treadmilly as in CoD.

For me it it's a breath of fresh air for the Halo series. What the game lacks in weapon and map control (like 1/2/3 have) it makes up for in fast paced controlled chaos style combat within the Halo sandbox. I just wish there were more BTB maps like I always do, I also wish they would get rid of the single objective playlists and merge them into a single Objective playlist so we can have BTB Objective, SWAT, and Snipers.

Also, Team Slayer Pro takes all of that stuff out of the equation and is more traditional weapon drop, map control, no radar style of Halo. MLG style basically.

I couldn't agree more.

Boltshot is the business. It's basically a shotgun you can always have immediately at spawn.

I know I'm late and all but I just watched the Forward Unto Dawn SE that came with the LE. Pretty slick IMO. Just wish they would have used chief's VA from the game.

I think I'm done with consoles, at least for this gen.

Also: With first person shooters. I have a ton of fun for about a week - then I never feel playing them ever again. Same thing happens to me with both COD and Halo.

Opaque isn't playing...

I just bought it.
