MP in this game is pretty fun. BUT... I have no interest in playing a bunch of yet another MP game where I rank up, unlock skills, build loadouts, etc. I didn't play MP3 online much for just this reason. Or Halo 4 for that matter. Yet I can boot up Reach or #3 and play it to my heart's content without fiddling with loadouts and crap.
We have a tragedy of the commons situation here in MP FPS gaming, where the commons is limited gaming attention. Developers all build these elaborate MP suites to vie for attention but it just ends up turning me away. I have one game I rank up (BF3, though I'm the worst player ever) and that's it.
That's a great point. I could see each major publisher having one MP game that they try to market as the one to play, but beyond that, it's a little ridiculous. Their developers are just competing with themselves at this point, and no one really wins, especially not the consumer, who has to be paying for wasted development one way or another.
I ignore pretty much all multiplayer games with level-up/unlock systems
Exactly. If FC3 was just let me go in, pick weapons up off the ground, shoot dudes in the face, slide around, etc., I would probably play it a lot more than I eventually will. Same for MP3. I have no interest in experimenting with this stuff in every MP game. It was fun in COD4, it's kind of annoying in BF3 but I put up with it, it's painful everywhere else.
This stuff is now a barrier to entry, and I don't think developers intended it to be this way.
Dave is A LIAR. He prestiged his Dota 2 guy like 729382 times.
Dota 2 has levels, but they don't actually do anything or are tied to unlocks. League of Legends, on the other hand - is total grindfest unlock mania and I spent a lot of time with that :(
I also spent a little time unlocking shit in Chivalry - but that's pretty quick and fun.
TF2 has the worst system ever with random items and hats and whatever the hell. Terrible.
Do you know what the definition of insanity is? ;)
This game was pretty awesome. I did both endings and if you join Citra, she is one sexy, evil bitch . It incorporated a lot of elements from games that I love: Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Dragon Age/Skyrim, Borderlands. I was pretty impressed at what they were able to accomplish. With an awesome PC setup, the graphics really shine. I felt immersed in the jungle. Hang gliding and flying through the air in your jumpsuit was also pretty fun. :tu: :tu:
