Dragon's Crown

I'd never say that the game won't pull in some types of embarrassing people. It obviously will. I can't say for sure if the female characters are designed that way to sell to these people and others, are designed that way because that's what Kamitani enjoys, or both. Developer intent doesn't have a thing to do with my enjoyment of a game, though, so it doesn't matter.

I think you could use the content of this game (and a million others) as an example of how game development is male-dominated and I think that the way IRL women are treated in the industry seems pretty gross. I also like the look of this game and I don't think that it's notably harmful. I don't know where that puts me!

The problem is you'd have to ignore the art design on, literally, every other thing in the entire game. The female design doesn't stand out in Dragon's Crown because it fits in perfectly with everything else. It's only when isolated and presented apart from the game that it seems out of place.

I would imagine they both use the same netcode and since both are through PSN they're both going to be either good or shitty, but I would also imagine that would allow for cross-version play which isn't there so yeah. Yet you can use the same save file for both. I don't even.

Why single this game out for that?

Its slut shaming in that people are getting outraged at how sexual the sorceress looks, as if zero women would want to play as an overtly sexual character. This point is made more clear in the fact that you can pick other less sexual characters to play. If you don't want to be a sexual object, you have two other females to play and some dudes. This whole debate pivots on the idea that no woman should want to be hypersexual and no man should want to look at one.

Which is all shit. Sex is ok. Sexy women are ok. Its ok for women and men to have the option to play as an overtly sexual character. If they don't like it, they can play another character or just not play the game. They aren't entitled to a company investing time and money to make characters exactly the way they want. And their feelings don't over write the feelings of those that want to play as a huge stereotype.

20 minutes with the fighter an it already feels better than Muramasa or Odin Sphere. Changed movement to the d-pad because I was having issues dashing with the stick.

I don't know, but when you discover an answer, pass it along. I'm not sure why American society says nothing when men have unrealistic stereotypes to live up to, but people lose their shit when women have them.
