I have good news! You're no longer required to buy it because a thousand Monster Hunters are coming out for PSVita! Now you can be afraid of legitimate things, like terrars bred by the policies of the Oboma and Bush administrations and meteors blowing us up because our space program only has the budget for a guy with a telescope and a pistol.
I look forward to this game, I have it pre-ordered for PS3, hope it comes out soon.
Muramasa is really pretty, but the gameplay is... not great. I doubt I'll finish it. Combat feels horrible.

Yeah, the lack of cross buy is doing these publishers more harm than good if I am even remotely not alone. I would have bought MLB 13 day one for $60 if it had cross buy. Instead, I have waited, and now my interest shrinks as baseball season goes deeper, so I probably won't buy it at all. I could see the same thing happening here. Best case for them is that I may buy both copies for $20 each, instead of the $60 they would have gotten for cross buy. I can't be the only one.Quote:

I would crossbuy it day one to play it myself on the Vita and then do local co-op on the PS3. I don't think it'll suck like Odin Sphere and even if it does co-op almost always helps.
As is I might wait for a sale on the Vita one and then wait until the PS3 version hits $10.

I've never been burnt buying a Vanillaware game because I've never bought one before. But this is the lavishly animated hand I've been waiting for. All in for the PS3 version, day one. Chronicles of Mystara, once it's released next month, will have to tide me over 'till August.
I'm buying it for PS3, I think it's my last discounted pre-order through Newegg.
I still have Last of Us and Beyond in that pipeline, but I think that's it. I wish they'd do another $10 off $40 before Puppeteer.
This is coming out soon and a lot of people seem to like it link to US Gamer review because i like those guys because jeremy parish works for them
I've been playing this a lot since Monday, and will probably have a review up over the weekend on Game Over. If you're wondering which version to buy, I'd go with the Vita version. The touchscreen feels a lot more natural for some things (like having an NPC get treasure) and make use of wacky giant magic spells. Using the right stick on the PS3 works, and GOOD GOD ALMIGHT IS THIS GAME GORGEOUS ON AN HDTV, but I can see the price dropping on the PS3 version fairly quickly, and it's $10 less on the Vita.

I'm definitely enjoying the hell out of it, no question. I remembered the next day after writing the article that I'd meant to mention I particularly like the way the side-quests give hints on finding all the secrets hidden in the levels. Oh well, something for people to discover on their own.
The review copy was a download code. Download is nice, but I'm still going to end up buying the disk. This one's a keeper.

Damn I wish this were a $60 cross buy instead of $50 and $40. What's sad is that if there were only one version, I'd pay those prices, but since both exist I feel like there should be a better way to get them both.
Buy vita version now. Pick up ps3 version when it hits $20. It isnt like anyone will want to play them concurrently.
Or buy ps3 version now and wait for vita version to hit plus. Based on disgaea 3 and virtues last reward, it is a safe bet.
Yeah, I was leaning toward Vita now and PS3 at $20, because I need to show Vita support a lot more than PS3.
My problem with Vanillaware games is that they look incredible but play like shit. Does the combat feel like D&D or like Odin Sphere?
That's what I've been waiting on hearing about too, and it seems I can never trust reviewers on that. Realizing how soon this came out is why I put off my Muramasa purchase.
I didn't have any problems with controlling Muramasa with a classic controller on the Wii. Odin Sphere, yes, handled like a truck full of hairy dicks.
I'm on the fence about this. On the one hand, reviews are saying there's shameless padding and the single player gets pretty dull. On the other hand, everyone says multiplayer is amazing. Prefer local though, and I only have 2 PS3 controllers.

DECISIONS
It's not Odin Sphere, it's D&D. Fast and responsive, rather than waiting 3 seconds for the attack animation to complete before you can do anything else.

I worry about repetitiveness and SP viability of this... while a lot of people didn't like Muramasa once you got past the art (story of Vanillaware I know).

We've had another good week at the restaurant so I decided to treat myself to a little something and ordered this for Vita.
I'm tempted to buy this, but I simply HATE the art style. Japanese developers seem to be stuck in prepubescence, and the big tittied characters and pinup style images are just juvenile and stupid.
It's juvenile and stupid that the art direction in this game causes so much controversy. There's an easy choice when it comes to playing this game or not.
I'm sure a lot of it is "i'm offended by this because i'm offended by this gross exaggeration of the human form", which is fine, you don't have to play it or even look at it
but most of it is "i want to play this game but i don't want anyone to know i do, so i'm going to let people know that i DEFINITELY DON'T want to play this game"

I'd never say that the game won't pull in some types of embarrassing people. It obviously will. I think you could use the content of this game (and a million others) as an example of how game development is male-dominated and I think that the way IRL women are treated in the industry seems pretty gross. I also like the look of this game and I don't think that it's notably harmful. I don't know where that puts me!
The problem is you'd have to ignore the art design on, literally, every other thing in the entire game. The female design doesn't stand out in Dragon's Crown because it fits in perfectly with everything else. It's only when isolated and presented apart from the game that it seems out of place.
