Hah, perhaps, but I'm sure that for some their PC's weren't meant to really play anything past emulation. At least, that's all my notebook from '06 is still kicking it for.
That said, I really really love this game. But I can't play it on the laptop at home, because when I bought this for school, it came with a lame integrated graphics card, which doesn't even support shaders 2.0, which is what this game requires. But at least I have a nice 16:10 monitor at work. The game is gorgeous and really fun.
No one's really mentioned how rich the music is either, I love it. There's some things in the game I feel are winks to olden shooters. The game's art style and font when picking up coins and gears reminds me a bit of Progear no Arashi (at least, the grittiness of it) and the Laser for the first ship looks like they borrowed some artistic pointers from Dodonpachi's laser. All awesome.
