KoF is on Saturday because it has no player base. Regional tournaments and streams were consistently cancelled because no one was entering. A lot of the big KoF players aren't going to EVO this year. Even last year's champion can't make it because of family obligations.
SF4 had almost 2000 people sign up for EVO this year. Blazblue has a $25k grand prize and it starts at 9am, mostly to cater to the international audience.
I'm probably most interested to see how Ultra SF4 ends up since it's only been out a short time. We might see some crazy stuff. I think SF's slower pace let's the commentators actually talk about what is going on while it is happening, and is not necessarily a bad thing.
