I really think that's how it should be. I shouldn't HAVE to snap her in. She should have to land a few hits to get her level 5 as well.

I disagree. You want her out you should land a hit to do it not have to change the game to make her useless. But whatever now people snap in Wesker to prevent level 4 X-Factor.
Eh, it just seemed like I would have to give up a good chunk of damage, and a meter, for an attempt to mix her up maybe once. If I could play a perfect round and kill off your 3 chars, don't I deserve to not deal with her? Having to give up so much just because you choose that character felt like a bit much. I love where she is at now.
I think it's silly to have to change the ENTIRE SYSTEM for that one character. Let's not pretend like slower meter gain and meter-taking mechanics were added for any other reason. I don't think killing two characters should mean an easy kill on Phoenix. What's the difference from killing two characters and just snapping her in? If the opponent is already in a combo just do it. Phoenix coming in HAS TO guess correctly to live. Even dashing up can cost her against a lot of characters. She had enough against her that she could be dealt with. What you're typing comes off as you not wanting to use those options.
Also, if that bothers you, you should also complain about characters being super protected after the point character dies. No more guard breaking, not being able to call assists for a few seconds, and air X-Factor are more against the winner than Vanilla Phoenix.
Well not being able to call assists helps, it would be horrible if phoenix had old haggar assist and just through that out there.
Think about it this way, normally:
-If I get a hit on a character and I am playing at top level, that character dies and I get a mixup on the next character as well.
With Phoenix:
-If I get a hit on a character and I am playing top level, that character doesn't die because I MUST snap or lose the match, and I get a mixup on phoenix.
Its the same thing, except in the phoenix situation, I have one less kill for no reason. Not even to speak of the fact that if I miss that mixup on phoenix, I may well be completely boned. If she brings back in the original snapped character, I have to choose to kill him, or snap again. Maybe if I could choose who came out next after the kill, I would be ok with phoenix the way she was, even for an extra meter. I agree changing the whole system just for phoenix is a bit much, but I happen to like the reduced meter gain, so I guess I lucked out.
I can call an assist if I'm the one who lost a character. You have to wait if you killed my guy.
I find the more you like a game the worse I think it is. probably because it's the true death of the games I grew up with and the ones you're used to.
I don't like marvel. I like my character selection, but not the actual core game. Here is my order of liking fighting games:
Guilty gear until Slash.
ST.
HDR somewhat.
Theoretically CvS2, but in practice it feels pretty clunky.
That's it, I think the rest are mostly garbage. We can always get down with ST, but you hate that game. And that's more cutthroat than anything before or after.
Edit: And you only started taking these games serious like a year or two before me.
Wat? I've been in tournaments since 15. I'm 27 now.
ST just stinks but not in gameplay, just in fun. I can take it for maybe an hour but no more. I can play Marve 2 for days.
I have been at tournaments since I was 16. So a year or two...
I will admit this, Dante is one of the best designed characters I have seen as far as moveset and such goes in a LONG time. If Marvel 3 were a one on one game, properly balanced for one on one, and dante was in there, I may have held onto my xbox.
Edit: Now that I think about it, do you like any fighting game not MvC2? Is your argument simply that I do not like the one game you do like?
When Tekken Tag 2 hits consoles holiday 2012, we'll have a game EVERYONE can love, and everything will be awesome.
