I made a huge post on SRK a few months back about how the community needs to be very careful how this proceeds. They're pretty much where skateboarding was right when the big companies started trying to make it mainstream and "legitimate" - and as a result, unbearable to watch/be associated with. They've already got these jerk wearing logo'd up shirts and hats. Next is forced opinions.
It was met with a bunch of channer bullshit and 2-3 people taking it seriously.
They already have forced ways of acting. Mike Ross is the key guy in this scenario. He has a sponsor and has to act a certain way at tournaments. He's not really like that in real life. He's a bit more surly, I hears.

MLG is already putting SF4 into their rotation for 2012. Some companies don't care. Others, like say Razer, care tremendously about how their sponsored player promotes their brand. Justin has just always been nice. Ricky O. is a different kinda of guy. He's VERY salty when he loses. So is Filipino Champ but he gets away with murder.
