Something like that, but Yukiko is a blast just incredibly hard to be good at and one of the worst characters in the game. But it's only free because Aigis has such easy damage off most hits.

Aigis really is loads of fun.
I should have this Monday.
I need to pop this back in and play some more, I'd be happy to to battle with you all.
Good times to everyone playing this yesterday, glad we got a decent group on.
I made Mzo play until like 2am after everyone else got off, work this morning was rough. I think I got a bit better at least.
Yeah that was the most TNLers I've seen on it at once, good games to all.
I figured some shit out after I left. Ready for more IMO.
There is plenty of room at the Amagi Inn for guests to get served.
I definitely need to spend some time in training mode again. Get some mix ups going other than jumping cross up B's
you can stick Caesar's sword up his ass
Hilt deep keep
When is Kevin going to play this again? The only reason John and I started is that we refuse to believe he's any good at any fighting game ever.
This is a fighting game?
I'll be back on Thursday! Gonna be super rusty though, but I'll show you how it's done (except I can't play you in mirrors because fuck Yukiko Mirrors).
Also my feelings are hurt.
Everyone is pretty awful so you shouldn't have a problem getting back into it.
'No mirrors' is unacceptable though. Its just another matchup to learn.
Otay, though it's more of a guessing game at that point.
Persona is in EVO so practice up at that inn!
Holy shit, I'm really surprised, but that's awesome.
God Damn, Labrys' story is the Great Wall of text. Shit!
All the story modes are giant walls of text
Her story is like 100x though.
Fsteak.
It's short for Beefsteak.
Dipstick, get on GG when +R comes out, you bum!
I am back and online just messing around while I get settled in if anyone else comes on.
SPOILERS
Had to cut it short but Kevin is much better than expected! Oh man, now I actually have to try? Lame.
My Chie took that ass to the meat dimension.
Good games last night, especially to Kevin for sticking around to destroy me. You need to get a mic set up, I know you have one somewhere? I had a lot of questions.
This game feels strangely simple- you're either hitting someone, getting hit, blocking, or making someone block. Your goal is never be on defense, and always on offense- you can't block a string successfully and get to a neutral game, if you block you're just going to have to keep blocking until you get hit or start hitting back. Keep pressing buttons.
I'll definitely be on this tonight again.
The connector for my Mic broke off inside my stick, but I'll figure out a way to get it out and get a replacement headset.
Also chux discovered how ridiculous Chie is for sure. She can do her standing punch and basically walk you into a corner with ease.
It was frustrating not to be able to answer your questions for sure :(
The internet says try using a .5mm (#76) drill bit, carefully. Honestly I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. Just have enough grip on the broken piece to be able to move it?
Are you sure they didn't say reverse drill bit? Well I guess it's already not working.
I don't think you're actually supposed to drill, just use it to put pressure on the broken thing. There are a bunch of tutorials with ideas, so hopefully you can find something that works.
You can also say fuck it and buy a wireless mic.

? Seems pretty nice actually.
Anyways a few things I do remember I wanted to tell you:
Teddie's Circus has two versions of course, the delay being the difference as well as where he falls on the screen. He's only punishable for a bit while he's falling back onto the screen from it though. Otherwise you had the right idea with jumping and attacking with your persona to keep yourself in the air.
Even though I was being overly rush down last night dont' bother with traps against Yukiko from full screen because Naoto has to go to Yukiko anyways. The exception is in the corner where things just become a nightmare for anyone with traps surrounding them.
Rage sets your damage to 120% and makes it so you can't block yes. Fear makes it so you can't tech throws and everything becomes fatal counters.
You probably have the execution to learn Naoto's SMP loops after you mudoon them into the corner. I don't know them that well so you'll have to look it up on your own.
Probably more that I'm forgetting!
You'll probably still have to fix this, even with the wireless mic (which I also approve of).
I have a wireless mic, works great.
Mzo bought a wireless mic, but his TE always detects that a headset is plugged in, even though nothing is. Because the stick/system thinks there's something there, his wireless mic won't even link to that controller. It just skips it when you try. He just plugs in an old wired for now cause he didn't care to mess with it that much, but FYI you'd probably have the same problem and need to fix your stick anyway.
Also if you look around a bit usually you can find the headset for 30, maybe 20 on sale? It used to be 50 I think so 40 still isn't bad.
EDIT: thanks for the info, I didn't know about the details with the status effects. I've practiced a few SMP loops and can get them okay in training, but not so much online. after mudoon you just have to time the followup with the opponent low to the ground, and I can't seem to get it online. Didn't help that I only even got to that point every 2 fights or so. After that it shouldn't be too bad.. but if I get that far I'm usually surprised and fudge the rest. Just getting used to the game flow is helping a ton, so thanks for sticking around!
If that happened I'd just cut the mic wire in the stick and be done with it.
I actually just told Mzo to consider that a minute ago. He said he didn't mind the wired for now.
I ended up just opening the stick and popping off the cover to the mic slot and removing the damn thing. Got everything back on but gotta grab a new Mic to test it with.
Good games tonight guys! I really enjoy getting more than a few people in on the game, it's good to play against different characters and entertaining to watch when I'm not playing. :tu:
Throwdown tonight?
Awesome games last night. Might go back to Yosuke after doing that shit at the end.
Also! This is down to $19.99 new at GS
That is an excellent price. This game is probably not the best fighting game ever, but it does a hell of a lot right and has production values through the roof. Everyone should consider it.
Also probably the best set of online features for any 2d fighter.
$20 GoD or no deal.
Nobody wants to play against you.
Nobody.
I've never played this game. Ever. Let's make a wager. I'll borrow the game from someone and play all of you regulars. 2/3, normal tournament rules. If I go through all of you guys without losing a set, you guys have to buy me a copy. Deal?
Teddy: "I'm going to rape you in your sleep. Beeeear."
You guys keep this account.
T Hawk says no!
Kevin Rapestar is strong like bull, though.
I think John could probably beat him too.
He'll just sign in with Biff's account.
Then you've nothing to lose. Maybe my Aigis is not strong.
Also if you guys never saw this video:
In many ways, this looks like the SF4 of the Anime series (GG, BB, and now this). It is interesting because as a player of the old games if I wanted I could get competition in this game, which is of the same vein as GG but much simpler, or I could play against my old friends in the new rebalanced version of guilty gear they are releasing. Arc systems has treated us fans very well!
It really is, though it's also close to Marvel in the sense of just doing shit and having ways to get away with it is a big part of the game. I never got that feeling from GG.
You played it wrong.
If it weren't the case, everyone wouldn't use hidden missiles as an assist.
Doom is vulnerable for I think 100 frames during that assist. it's easily punished, but some people like to stick with their teams instead of adjusting.
I didn't really mean it like you just constantly play the game unsafe. Just that you often have a way to make something unsafe actually advantageous for you, such as people trying stuff and then getting hit by missiles.
I think what Kevin is trying to say is that the games might be more focused on zoning and projectile lockdown.
If he's trying to say that, then he missed the point of GG. The game has lots of zoning characters.
Here's my interpretation of that conversation:
Anthony: this looks like a beginner anime game, like SF4 is a beginner SF game.
Thief: I Agree, but also has some assist block patterns, like Marvel, due to the Persona.
Razor: I misunderstood what you said, and will show my superior knowledge with a vague statement that doesn't explain where I'm coming from.
Thief: Doom missiles makes normally unsafe pressure safe. I'm giving an example to prove my point, which doesn't help because you misunderstood what I was saying.
Razor: Doom missiles is very unsafe when called. I am having a different conversation than you.
Thief: Wait, I think we're having 2 different conversations. I will try to clarify.
FirstBlood: I think he's saying something different from the 2 things you guys are actually saying!
Razor: Well if hes talking about that third thing, hes wrong.
End.
I do like that combo video because of the music. I think I've liked every combo video I've seen with a Queen song in it.
Sounds about right.
I'm glad someone else could clarify cause I had given up by then.
Also if you any of you guys are interested at all, Dustloop is doing P4U ranbats tonight (Think tiny online tourny) at 7 EST.
http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showt...sode-2-1-18-13 is the thread if you're interested at all.
Nice, I saw you signed up. I think I'm going out tonight though.. GL!
It's online so you can only expect so much, but I have a tourny tomorrow as well which might get streamed.
Link the stream if so. I don't think the local stream will be on tonight, and even if it was it it'd mostly be sf4 and marvel.
Yeah I'll definitely link it if so, though there's only like 8 people since it's not really a major area tournament. Also
http://www.twitch.tv/xiei socal regional tourny Persona 4.
Yeah I've got that on in the background here, but haven't really been paying attention to it.
I just remembered, you're in Chicago. Where are you going for your local play? Because Chicago has a strong scene that meets at Game Pazzo in one of your suburbs, and Ignite on the north side.
He's gone to Game Pazzo a couple of times.
Yeah I was actually talking with one of the best Yukiko's (maybe the best) in the US last night who's from there. He mentioned Friday nights P4U gets played by the locals I don't know which of those two they go to though.
Yeah, I know about the fgc stuff here, question is why the heck would you?
Game Pazzo is tonight. I haven't been going much because I don't play much more than sf4, and 3s if people are playing it. It'll be fun playing with everyone in a new game even if I suck, plus they're supposedly gonna have some craft stuff on tap tonight.
Ignite is too far for a weekday. I went to GGA a bunch before, but that's pretty much done for now.
edit: who were you talking to? Douglas? I didn't play much attention to it before, besides 1 liz player I know.
Yeah Douglas. Was up like 2 hours talking FGC stuff with him this morning but there's Douglas who is a great Yukiko, Heroic_Legacy who is a good Akihiko, ShinSyn who I play with often is a good Yu. Oh and that liz is probably Kobayashi who is solid.
Yeah it's pure coincidence that I knew it, added him on skype after using twitter and I had asked him about Chicago's casuals.
Are you actually going tonight?
Ah ok. Yeah I know those guys.
True story, I would have gone to GP a lot more but dumb Mzo never wanted to go. Thank god he's gone forever.
Yeah, I'm going tonight.
What do you guy by there?
Also good, fuck Mzo.
Just John, really. Darmonde is usually what I sign up as on tournies, but only the old people really know me since I don't go much. Douglas only starting come fairly recently (last year?) so he probably doesn't really remember me. I'm just that Asian guy who plays Rose or Ibuki in 3s.
Haha well get in there now, he said they need a Naoto.
We got finals coming up at twitch.tv/eflsafehouse for this. I am waiting in losers final.
Which is the P4A stream? All I'm seeing is mediocre Marvel play.
Efl
Time for some mediocre persona play to follow it up. Also John Doug said it went well with you
I'm watching. Get them Yukiko unblockables tighter.
Blah choking.
Yeah I dropped a lot and screwed up. Bunch. I am going to spend more time training and less time doing matches and fix my input
I just watched the replay, good stuff Kevin. That matchup seems bad- she was getting in for free with her drill all day. 2D is basically never possible I guess. I wonder if a single 5B between moves would help from full screen, but I can already think of a billion ways around that. Do you play that Mitsuru a lot?
He lives about an hour north, so not as much as I'd like. I was messing up a lot of backdashing, and I still don't have as good of an eye for trajectory as I should. She can't drill in for free if my fans are in the appropriate spot or if I throw my persona out in the air. 5B from full screen is pretty much always a bad idea. She can freely punish that with her Persona's whip which will lead into some nasty damage on a counter hit. Like Razor said though it applies to more than my Unblockable setups, I need to tighten up my movement and play in general. Thursday I finally figured out about using the delay on her persona after Agi, so you can throw out that agi and then at the moment it disappears have it attack again which can be frustrating.
It's not too bad of a matchup, though he's only an ok Mitsuru but he's most certainly not garbage at least. That seems to be the general extent of the local Persona talent.
There's a tournament in NM on the 16th of Feb I'm thinking about going to, but right now I don't think there's any competition and there's like 4 people signed up. So gonna wait to see if more sign up.
Just FYI, going to tournaments against amazing players doesn't make you better, playing hours of casuals against them does.
You're right, that's easier said than done though.
Go to the tournament and play them before it starts and maybe after.
Well I meant finding the great players in my area, I play everyone else as much as possible. But I probably won't get a chance at any of the greats until UGTF which I will definitely try to play them in casuals too.
Also leveling up your theory fighter so when you come up with ideas they actually make sense and work. If something is beating you, you want to eventually be able to figure it out outside of the match (or from watching vids), come back and whoop some ass.
