Everybody demanded new consoles when there wasn't a reason for them yet. The one with the most worthwhile technical jump is the Wii U, and... well.... yeah.
I wouldn't go that far, 360 and PS3 were very antiquated and the games didn't look so good anymore. Problem is that developers aren't trying to do anything to take advantage of the new hardware. Shit they aren't even trying to make new games. Sleeping Dogs 2, DOA6 - that would be cool. This is some bullshit.

I agree with that, but it's not because the hardware can only do better trash blowing around the environments. It's because that's all these developers have done so far. It sucks.
Most of the framerates have doubled, and the resolutions have improved dramatically. For at least a little while, it's like having a mid-tier PC, which hasn't been the case in years.Quote:

I really feel that this stuff just doesn't matter. I've been dabbling with some games on 360, and even if I go straight from a 1080p and 60fps game to a sub-HD, shaky frame rate game (like Dark Souls) after a few minutes I just adjust and enjoy.Quote:

I believe that aesthetics trump technology every time. Crysis has the best tech for an FPS, but that shit has no style whatsoever so who cares five years later?
Pandemoneum 2 had a better 'polygon count' than SotN, but look at which game we still talk about.
