I hate those damn codes that are locked to email addresses.
Yeah I know. A couple of different guys on cag got it to work, so it's worth a shot.
The price of this has dropped to $29.99 on both Newegg and Amazon. That just seems nuts.
Sounds like a pretty reasonable price to me, actually.
Really good price IMO. It's my favorite G.rev game.
Pretty tough call between this and Border Down for me. I can't decide.
Pretty easy, Border Down is far better.
I like Strania a lot more than Border Down. I dunno, it didn't really do much for me.
All of G.rev's games are pretty different. They've never really fallen into a style. So I guess on that level I can get whatever preference.
So...I just got an email from Amazon that this has shipped. I kinda forgot about it.
WTF... my NewEgg order hasn't shipped and shows "discontinued." Maybe I'll cancel it and just order from Amazon.
edit: Actually, I'll just get the digital version. I read somewhere that's coming soon.
It's exclusive to amazon actually. That's why newegg isn't shipping. I'm getting the physical version since I'm pretty sure it will be a limited release that should have some value down the line
Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too. I just want to prolong the life of my Blu-Ray drive. Damn it.
edit: I forgot I had Amazon credit from the physical copies of the Vita PS+ games. That made that choice easier, since it was "free."
I forgot how hard this is. I went right to default Arcade Mode, because my TV misses being turned sideways, and I just got destroyed. I barely made it to the second level on the first try.
I got this in the mail today. I got to the second level easily enough, but that huge battleship destroyed me. Played a second time, and I got to the battleship with more lives, it still destroyed me.
I dunno, I'm not feeling this one yet. Maybe I need to play further in.
I finished 1-2 on my third attempt. The key for me is not taking bombs with me to the grave. I probably could have gone farther had a I used them instead of trying to be a hero in some spots.
That happens to me in just about every shooter. It's so aggravating to see a Game Over screen when you had a full stock of screen clearing bombs.
I generally refuse to use bombs while learning shooters, otherwise I'll never get past patterns that I should be able to breeze past. Once in a while I'll drop one on a boss where I'm having trouble with a specific part, but that's about it.
An acceptable middle ground (for me, at least) is in games like Bug Princess 2 where if you get hit with a full bomb stock, the game releases one for you but drains your entire stock. Otherwise I try to completely ignore the bomb button outside of the final boss.
I don't like autobombing in general, but I like that idea of using your entire bomb stock as a punishment.
In Akai Katana it'll autobomb if you have a full stock but only on your last life.
The bombs should just scatter, so that if you're lucky and skilled enough, you can pick them up when you respawn.
BLATANT SHILLING APPROACHING!
HG is doing a giveaway for this - ten copies are available, just register and leave a comment -

Apparently this was silently released on the North American 360 marketplace on Monday. Very goofy! $20. http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Pr...5-d802545a07d4
I'm surprised it didn't get a physical release for the 360. I got Under Defeat LE for the PS3 back in July from amazon for pretty much the same price, before shipping.
This game is on sale for $3 on PSn right now
This isn't one of those bullet hell shmups, is it? For $3 I enjoy the occasional shmup enough to bite, as long as it isn't that kind.
It doesn't have a particularly huge amount of bullets, no. But it's tougher than a lot of games that do, if that matters!
My first reaction was Fuck Yeah, i'mma dl this right away. Then I remembered controllers. Touch screen shooters have ruined me.
Yeah I don't see how this could work with touch controls. You wouldn't really want it too either. It's not Dodonpachi.
You could use more than one finger to move and turn your fingers to pivot, maybe?
I had it for Dreamcast and played it quite a bit, but I liked Zero Gunner 2 way better.
