Building mine was pretty stressful but in the end I was surprised how simple most of it was. It helps that I generally enjoy tinkering with my electronics and had learned about most of the components by upgrading my pre-built PC. Also having a bigass case.
I wouldn't blindly recommend the process to anyone but knowing exactly what components you've got in there can save you some headaches down the road.

There's no boot menu you can access?
Almost every PC BIOS has some sort of early boot menu in addition to CMOS settings.
Make sure your BIOS is set to report all messages.
Turn off any sort of quick/quiet boot modes. You need to see what's going on.
I told you to stick with 7. Downgrading does shit like this.
I formatted though. didn't try a downgrade.
