I would say information overload. It's one of the reasons I didn't get the 780ti. For the extra $200+, I don't think my eyes would have noticed the +10 FPS improvement compared to the 780 SC ACX, so the SC ACX seemed to be the best value for me.

Well generally you would get a more-powerful-than-needed card for a certain amount of future proofing, as odds are you're using a monitor that's locked at 60hz anyway. I was just wondering if there was something medical that could affect someone's image processing.

I haven't had a PC monitor running such a low refresh rate since the 1990's.

LCD!

I've had my 24" LG LCD for my PC since early 2009. They weren't exactly cheap back then, and I believe I'd paid @ $239 for the unit. Yeah, it would be nice to have a 120Hz LED monitor, but until this one craps the bed, I'm fine with 60hz and v-sync locked.

The 780ti isn't $200 worth of better performance than the 780. He's also has a non-reference cooler on his card, which should allow him to have higher over-clocks at a lower temperature than the reference model.

Weird. The LCDs I've owned have all done at least 75Hz.

The last computer monitor I had that ran at 75Hz (analog RGB) was a 19" IBM CRT.

The 52" LCD (120Hz True Motion plus) I have in the living room will run at 75Hz, but only when I use an analog RGB input from a PC. I don't use that crap.

Real 75hz LCDs were rare and pretty much phased out with 1080p monitors that come only in either 60 or 120hz.

I see. Mine were all 1280x1024.

As I understand it that's around the maximum resolution that single-link DVI can send a 75hz signal, though I couldn't tell you for how long single-link was standard.
