Please buy a sound card if you spend that kind of money.
Not that there aren't a couple decent chips out there, but...
I have an MSI Z87 MPower Max, great board
edit: oh a MiniPC. Cool. I wanted to build one, but I didn't ;( So no sound card I guess. I was looking at the Maximus VI Impact. Couldn't decide on a case though, so I gave up.
I haven't decided yet. I want a small PC but I also want one as quiet as possible (notice the water cooling for CPU). So it is tempting to just get a large case to make sure I have the space.
The X51 was really cool, but I eventually realized I couldn't get close to that build size so going small seemed not small enough. I settled on a Fractal Design R4 which is super quiet except for the fact I do get coil whine with the video card when it's full blast (don't really notice it though because I use headphones). The problem was I got a reference card because I was going to build small (and you more or less want a reference blower on the nVidia cards if you go small).
I don't have any intelligent recommendation other than suggesting if you aren't ever going to lug it around, it's probably not a big deal to get a mid tower.
Whenever the linux update window pops up it knocks my computer offline. I love it.
about to pull the trigger on one of those korean IPS monitors. Anyone tried them yet?
I've had one for a while and love it. Just ordered a second one actually.
Mine has a couple spots of backlight bleeding but other than that it's perfect.
