Expect them to leave a note when you're in the shower.
Pretty.
Fans spin for half a second then stop. Not even enough time to get a sense of what's failing. Research says to try reseating all power inputs but so far, nothing. Don't want to overdo testing on the theory I might be hurting something. :(
PC GAMING
Good call going for the new platform and future proofing. I'm sure it cost a bit more now for not a lot of incremental benchmarks, but it will pay off in the longer-term.
edit: Once you get past your hardware issue, I'll be curious to hear how the clean Windows 10 install goes on new hardware. If you learn any tricks, please share.
Did you test it outside of the case before installing it?
Try using just one stick of RAM and using the onboard graphics from your CPU. You should press a button on the board called MEM OK. It should power cycle a couple of times before finally posting.
Edit*
Yeah. You will have to press the MEMOK button to get that RAM to work on your motherboard. It is not on the Asus qualified vendor list.
Here's the list.
Fixed it! I am the god of all PC!!!!! :D
Turns out the system is much happier if the hard drive and fans have their own individual power cables, rather than daisy-chaining them off one.
Sure, I probably need to buy a DVD ROM due to my old one connecting with a grey ribbon cable, so I can do a fresh Windows install, but at least I know the path forward instead of guessing, hoping, and worrying that my lovely new parts are dead.
Cool!
