It's been 6 weeks since my upgrade and yet I've got no problem with the idea of the Next Big Thing coming along. Mostly because by the time anything shows up that my 980 (non-Ti) has trouble with the current newest and greatest cards should be reasonably priced and the drivers mature. It's kind of nice to see that the deep end of the tech pool is more about bragging rights than necessity.
VRAM is my biggest concern, even with 1080p. I'd gladly pick up a 980 Ti, if it was @$300.
The pautry 2GB of VRAM that my GTX 670 rig has (living room PC) is the only reason I haven't dropped another 670 in the rig. The 780 would be replacing it, once I get another card.
$380 for a 1070 is shockingly cheap. Exciting stuff.
I have to make a decision if I want to build my new PC or just push it back like I've done the past 3 years.
You don't have to wait much longer for the 1000 series to come out to readjust the price of the entire lineup.

James, when you did your new build, did you do a clean install of Windows 10 directly? If so, do you have any hints or tips?
I don't see how he could have done it without a clean install of Windows 10. He had totally new hardware that required new drivers across the (no pun intended) board.
I don't think I can go from a 980Ti to a 1080 :(
