Hey, did capcom threaten an embargo when nick saw blue shadows?
Shit people, this is not about Nick, blue shadow or FROTHING DEMAND.
Please get back to track.
Also... what the hell happened in here? Were posts deleted? Nothing makes any sense.
I could share more recent shit but why would I if you guys are going to behave like this?
Thank you all for this wonderful skit that so plainly illustrated the problematic immaturity of games journalists and gamers alike.
I agree with bVork but I still want to read more articles like this you should post them Almaci.
I am still considering all options for me and what I will do in the future but I can give a fairly recent example that involved me personally.
First of all, I am not a reviewer and I have gone by over the years doing legit journalistic work, in depth stuff like this: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/featur...illa_games.php .
In fact before this year the only review I did in a decade was for this website for a Pocket PC and Palm game called Warfare Incorporated: http://www.the-nextlevel.com/reviews...-incorporated/
Since then absolutely nothing until early this year when I was asked if I wanted to do Crysis2. I reluctantly agreed for various reasons: I really needed the money, it was a game I was anticipating, there would be no pressure on me by having a PR person behind my back at all times guiding the experience(such as was the case for the GTAIV review events).
So EA flies us to Frankfurt for 3 nights, we stay at a fancy hotel all inclusive(bar, restaurant, Harry`s cocktail and Cigar bar, mini bar) and we find the rooms are filled with 50 inch 3d TV`s a kick ass surround system and the version of Crysis 2 of our choice.
It is understandeable that they want to show the game in the best possible conditions and while I do own a decent Panasonic Plasma and Onkyo sound system at home this is not how most people will play the game.
On the table we have a guide that we can use in case we get stuck, which explains whats in the game and what things they dont want us to spoil in the review et cetera, all pretty standard.
The NDA sadly for a big title is also pretty standard, score the game a 9 and you can publish early March and lower scores have to wait till May.
This way there will be a high Metacritic score for the game for about a month before release and that will in effect make stores push and order more pre orders, it also increases hype with the already existing fans who then go on forums saying see this game IS that good you should get it too so we can play together or whatev er silly things you crazy kids think these days.
