16. Metal Gear Solid: Tactical Espionage Redefined

I don't know why I had to type the whole game title like that. Played it again since last year and still enjoy it. I should actually try Twin Snakes sometime for all of its wacky, off-the-walls, ludicrous cutscenes (and odd control schemes).

It didn't drag on as long as I remembered, but it was still repetitive as hell. I'd be willing to play it with other people, as single-player doesn't really do much. Still, can't complain when it's free!

17. The Simpsons Arcade Game

Exactly what he said. Nostalgia kept me happy until Stage 4 (which is as far as I got as a kid with two dollars a week). Pretty sad.

#5 (360) Lord of the Rings: War in the North. Not nearly comparable to Skyrim, DA, etc... but this game kind of grew on me as time passed. Could've been much, much better however.

6. Super Mario 3D Land

Not bad. I liked it more than Galaxy, but I didn't like it enough to be particularly happy about revisiting stages and looking for star coins. I hear the best stuff is after the credits, at least.

18. Shank 2

Better than the first one, which felt more like it had the blueprint down of what it wanted to do, but wasn't quite there yet. This though, feels like a much meatier package. Prettier and more interesting background art, the staple beat-em-up weapon crowbars, pipes, torches, even a giant shovel for pick-ups, some fun combos that are simple, but fun to button mash. Even the inclusion of a second playable character with a completely different moveset was a great touch, even if it only lasted one mission. Its progression notifications for sub-achievements, the laundry list of weapons from other foes you can pick up and a Survival mode makes it feel like it's a 2D Gears game. Really worth it for $10.

I never played it on PC, since I'm still using the same graphical weaksauce (but MS Office effective) computer I had when the game came out. Work PC could definitely run the game on High, but I ended up getting it on PSN. Pretty game. Got kind of boring halfway through, but the snow made it pretty sweet. Wouldn't play this again, but it was an experience to be had, I guess...
20. Soul Calibur V

Story Mode was pretty painful. I ended up skipping all the storyboards and watched a few CG clips. Read the summaries and that seemed more effective in the end. Different Guard Impact, I'm okay with that. Toying around with lighting and shadows keeps the game from not looking too old. Never liked Kilik, but Xiba sure is fun to use.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (WII)
Said all I care to say in the thread. Easily the most disappointing non-handheld Zelda.
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (DS)
Loved everything that didn't involve sliding boxes to get the ball from one side to the other. Those can fuck right off.
Mass Effect 2 (360)
My wife actually suggested we stay in one evening so she could watch me finish this. She really wanted to see how it ended. Also, she really likes Grunt. Thinks he's adorable. She also said I chose the Paragon choices too often, and should have walked a more middle ground.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (WII)
Didn't like it as much as the first one. You know what's fun? Exploring a level, going off on a tangent, and accidentally finding a hidden star. You know what's not fun? Repeating a timed challenge again and again and again until that fucking little rabbit gives up a star. Not fun at all, Nintendo.
Pushmo (3DS)
Saved all the children. I think I had fun with it longer than Compass did, but it nonetheless stopped being enjoyable long before it ended. It's a neat concept that simply doesn't have legs.
Deadly Creatures (WII)
Boy oh boy, how I wanted to love this game. Billy Bob Thornton and the late, great Dennis Hopper do a great job with voice acting. The desert setting is very cool, and the creatures well designed and animated. Boss fights are smart and intense. But somewhere around the tenth time of getting stuck in a wall--or once being caught behind a barrier while three rats twirled around in mid-air--I got frustrated to the point that I wasn't having nearly as much fun as I could have been. It's a shame--such a fun concept, ruined by an abundance of bugs. Get it?

1cc, aka Kung Fu Kid and sequel to Dragon Wang but he is just a normal Wang in this outing, liked the detailed graphics and the music on Round 4 but the gameplay is quite simplistic in that you can easily avoid enemies by jumping ahead of them up to Round 5 without worry but the difficulty ramps up suddenly from there on out and without the hidden powerups, can be frustrating
17. THE Kung Fu (PCE)
http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/sho...2ooaWww1rppy76
aka China Warrior, didn't 1cc it as I used the continue code to learn the last stage but couldn't be bothered to try again, a showpiece for the PCE's hardware with huge sprites but at its core, still a Spartan X clone that throws random garbage at you including bugs, twigs, rocks and a boulder! when it comes to bosses, turns into a simple vs fighter that has some interesting takes on blocking but can be easily frustrating to find weaknesses in the AI

Awesome..absolutely love Kung Fu Kid, very playable. Sweet music. :-)

DNG and I beat Hunted on Hard. This game is a thorough pain in the ass. We tried to not drink the "power juice" but ultimately gave up on that because without it, a few fights are practically impossible.
Worthwhile co-op game though, especially for the $15 asking price.
