The current drought of Capcom 2D fighters
I remember reading somewhere that Capcom said after the release of Capcom vs SNK 2, they would take a break from 2D fighters and focus on other projects. It seems that this is the case, and Capcom wasn't lying. There were no 2D fighters shown at E3 and SevenForce mentioned no new 2D fighters were shown at the Capcom event in Japan. I'm itching for some new fighting games this year so Capcom's lack of games surprises me. Maybe they're just tired of making them and are taking a break, maybe their working on new 3d fighters (Rival Schools), or maybe they're working on a really big big project (Street Fighter 4). What do you think?
