They frankly have to. Otherwise, I'll sell you my iOS games for $0.01 through iTunes and $1 via Pay Pal, as an example.

When you're selling something, getting nothing is never better than getting something.
When you're reading buttplant posts, getting nothing is usually better than getting something.
I'll pirate until they get it right.
Think what you want, but they are trying to curtail used sales for everything now that there are no laws that specifically express fair use and resale rights in the digital marketplace.
I'm not going to roll over for it so they take away that right so easily. So do what you want, tons if fun, but if I can't resell it I'm fine just taking it.
not when the new market place that these things are sold in put you at a greater disatvantage when compared to previous markets of business.
Pull your head out of your ass for one second and attempt to look at the bigger picture.
Jesus, how can both me and Razor see this but you're all "durp durp, some moneys better than no moneys?"
I am fun, no ifs about it. Ask your mom. Or sister. tell her I PROMISE to get a support check out this month
It's too early to get defensive about something that wasn't even aimed directly at you, hence the "for everyone" addendum to "fixed."
As long as it's easy and rather anonymous to steal shit, we all will. Some of us just need more justification that others, so some of us will continue to add qualifiers for why what we are doing isn't wrong.
A bigger issue that I'm concerned with is Arbitrage or known more commonly, 'flipping'
1. This will presumable eliminate my chance to make money off of the stupidity and laziness of others. Why would anyone sell me their DD game at a big enough loss that I could turn around and sell it at a profit even after fees? Why not just sell it on the marketplace website yourself and make the max profit minus fees yourself?
2. How raging nerd fag are they going to be about setting sale price? If I get a game for 75% off on a weekly steam sale, will I be able to sell it for whatever I want after the sale? Say I get it for 2.50, will I be able to sell it for 7.50 later, when the game is 9.99 again?
And before you answer that (because it would appear logical that they would let you set the price) consider this: IF they let you set your own sale price, they will lose sales. You'll have people who buy every game sale item, just so they can flip it later at a profit. Right now when DD games go on sale, it doesn't have a large impact on later sales. Allowing buyers to resell at their own set price would. It would cause a dip in sales later during the period that flippers are selling their copies at a lower price than retail. If they don't price control they will be in as bad or worse position than they are already in with physical used sales. It could be potentially worse because the physical world restricts resells in small part. A lot of people either can't find physical used copies so they buy new or are too lazy to trade in or ebay their used copies. That barrier will not exist online. If you can click buttons to download it the first time, you can click the same buttons to put it up for sale.
It makes sense that someone like Apple would support this. They make their money as a % of app price. They don't give a shit if that is a % off of what goes to the app maker or reseller. It will all look the same to them. They just want more micro transactions so they will have an increased number of fees paid.
