Broken Age (formerly Double Fine Adventure) (Finally complete!)

I think Tain is more worried about the fan input, which can lead to two different problems. Fans can be retarded and not know that what they think they want is terrible, or all of their diverse and creative ideas can be puréed into a generic slurry. Remember when Yoshi ran that "TNL's favourite games" poll? The usual suspects from every top ten list ever appeared in really high positions, because of all the diversity in what people put as their absolute favourites and the relative homogony of the lower portions of everyone's lists.

I'd be more worried about that if this weren't such a passion project for Schafer. He doesn't seem to be the type to compromise his vision because other people want him to.

And he's smart enough to reveal nothing at all about the game until after the checks are cashed this time.

Okay. Doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be worth playing. Hopefully it'll be more Machinarium and less anything done by Telltale.

...aaaand 1 million dollars. They'll probably pass that iPhone dock that has the all time record before the 24 hour mark (It's at 1.05 million right now).

Exactly. I want this to be the game that Tim and friends want more than the game that the majority of donors want. I expect the developers to be able to recognize the good input and ignore the bad, though.

There isn't going to be fan input. This is about people putting up money to let Schafer do what he wants.

I'm tempted to just ignore whatever private discussion forum they put up and any betas that show up on Steam, and just watch the documentary as it's produced and play the final product. I put my money in to play a Double Fine Adventure, and I don't need any more input on the process than that.

So many people have pledged at this point that the community board (or however they plan on handling feedback) is more than likely going to be an enormous clusterfuck of stupid.
