This is how Sony will get me to buy games on PSN over XBLA. It's genius.

Hopefully this will continue with future PSN stuff. There are a ton of bought but unloved XBLA/PSN games that I have that I would play the shit out of on a portable.
What's a "they"? Retro City Rampage is created by a "him", and seeing as he's been working on it forever, canceling that close to the end seems counter-productive at best.Quote:

I got it on PSN and played the beginning which was really weird. It's all in 8-bit graphical style but the opening is a cutscene-heavy tutorial that has very little play as it walks you through what each button does. I only played a couple minutes before going back to Tokyo Jungle and I'm sure it gets better, it just felt like I was participating in one of those YouTube videos where people do a mock up of where modern hand holding is layered onto old games.
That's weird. I've been playing it on PC and haven't seen anything like that. There's a minute or two at the beginning like that, sure, but that's true of most games. Since then I've just been tearing around, taking on missions, and causing 8-bit styled mayhem wherever I go. I can't say it's the deepest game I'll ever play, but it is pretty fun.

I saw this on GOG...I dunno. Not a fan of top-down games.
I got it for Vita. Played an hour and a half last night. 'twas fun, but I already kinda feel I've had my fill. Probably should have just played the demo. Super small at 31MB, so I won't mind it just sitting on my memory card and firing it up now and then.
