Ok, so its time again for my weird ass game ideas. Most my game ideas come from dreams I have and this one is no diffrent. I was thinking about the always fantastic Warsong, and I started day dreaming and I saw this chick with long black hair, and a dark purple dress. She was singing and her singing caused a storm to brew overhead and a mist began to run through a forest in the ravine below the cliff she stand on. As the mist passes through, it occasionally is diverted swirling in a mini tornado reveling many diffrent creatures as though they had been there all along... warriors from empires, civilizations... entire worlds long past. Rising again to fight under the command of this young girl.
This weird little day dream gave me the idea to combine rhythm games and war strats into a single title. Right now the controls are a bit muddy in my head, but Im sure by the time I actually have the talent to make a agame like this, I could figure out a way to make the controls flow better. As it stands I am using the dual shock controller as a base.
The basic premise is this. You are a young girl with the gift of Warsong. An ability that can summon warriors and creatures from long since past to do battle for you. At the begining of a battle you would have to summon the creatures by performing a rhythm game. So far I have it in my head as set up to the right of the screen and looking just like DDR, but Im sure that will change at some point. Anyway, you select the groups of summons you wants, and a rhythm section is selected that ou must perform. No matter how well you do, you will always get the same ammount and type of creatures you selected, but the better you perform, the stronger the creatures are that you summon, and if you do it perfectly you may even be granted power ups and whatnot. If you do poorly, the creatures you summon will be weak, and will have more sluggish movement, and may not always obey the commands they are given.... which brings me to the actual battling.
Once you've summoned the creatures, the actual battle begins. The creatures are in groups of four or five to start, but you can give the command for them to join and become a larger single group, or two medium sized groups, whatever you want. You give commands by selecting the group with the d-pad, then using the triggers singly or in combonations to give specific commands. Then, you would perform a short rhythm game with the four face buttons to actually call the command, and they would act according to how well you sing. The better you do, the better they act out the command. Again, doing it perfectly can give them speed boosts, or a temporary invincibility or something along those lines.
The battles would move essentially in real time. For instance, if you gave the command for a group of creatures to move from one point to another, they would be moving there while you were selecting other groups and giving commands.
I guess thats about it, just an idea i had that I think could make a kickin game. What do you all think?
