I don't follow these things often. Which other companies have dodged out? The only big ones i've heard are Double Fine and they ended up looking like huge assholes, like everyone else who did something stupid, and that's not the kind of customer relationship you want to have, unless you're Microsoft or Apple.Quote:
I think that real companies might be the worst actually. They are used to running on tight budgets and get a free bag of money with no strings attached. Kind of like how Massive Chalice money is being used to finish Broken Age.
Don't be so opaque. You're just "waiting for the Steam sale."Quote:
They've been making games for over a decade. If they have no cash they either need to charge Capcom or Konami more money to do their remakes or actually put some marketing into their original games so they sell to more than 5 TNLers.
I really like their games, but I'm not giving them any cash.
If you like the game and/or the company, fund it. If you don't care for it, fine, don't, but stop acting like you're making a stand against a terrible company. They're asking for enough people to pre-order it (along with a bunch of crap if you want to pay more) so they don't lose quite as much money as usual. Their games aren't selling millions of copies (or probably even hundreds of thousands), they're not trying to trick a bunch of suckers, they actually want to make a product and see this as a good way to fund it.
