- Shitty developers can use limited system as excuse for their shitty games

- Someone might notice that for actually playing/developing retro style games, you can use any new console and YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY MODERN GAMES TOO!

Developers sure are lining up to give a cut of their profits to cartridge licensing costs, lemme tell you.

It's not any different than the cut Valve, Sony, etc. take I suspect. I think that's the least of this thing's potential problems.

Unless it does something that modern consoles and computers cannot do, like 240p resolution or some sort of interesting hardware setup that makes it entertaining to code for, there's no point in that console. Hell, even if both are true, why would anyone make games for it rather than just working on a new game for NES, PCE, Genesis, or 3DO (your laugh here) - you know, consoles that people actually own? Or hell, make a game for fucking MS-DOS, designed for P133s or something.

I think you misunderstand what publishers were having to pay for in the NES days. They were getting taxed left and right. Platform fee? Sure. You want x-many cartridges? Awesome, buy 'em from us. Oh you wanted 10,000? Here's 5. Make due.


I know you want your Boutique Neo Geo 2 Console, but it's a stupid idea.

This is the absolute antithesis of the Neo Geo, so I am not sure what that has to do with anything.

And this thing sure as hell won't have monopolistic Nintendo bullshit, so that doesn't seem relevant either.

Again, I don't see this thing as a success, but it's not for licensing cost reasons.

It's not a success because it's a dumb idea.
