I'm beginning to think Yoshi is just logic-illiterate.
Like if I said:
All men are mortal
Socrates is a man
Therefore Socrates is mortal.
That's not the same as:
All men are mortal
Socrates is mortal
Therefore Socrates is a man.
The first is valid, the second is not. Are you able to follow why that is?
Read your own statement again. The universe of all risks of investment, which is what you said Kickstarter included, absolutely includes financial gain.
For someone who's a condescending prick about "logic" and breaks out the "dumb" and "logic-illiterate," you have a pretty fragile and transparent place of residence.
Both of your statements are correct, and neither contradicts what I said.
edit: And your stealth edit added a third statement which is also true but doesn't contradict what I said.
edit2: Maybe I need to ask the questions:
Is financial gain a risk of investment?
This argument is the fucking worst and hinges on your opposing views on the value of Kickstarter more than anything you've been actually arguing about so please shut the fuck up.
It's not a value judgment at all. It's completely objective.
Financial gain is a risk of investment, period. Since Kickstarter does not contain the risk of financial gain, it does not have all the risk of investment. Therefore, this statement is factual incorrect:
fin
No, it supports what I said. Would you not agree that the outcome of Kickstarters is uncertain, and therefore a risk?
In any event, your argument boils down to nothing more than this:
And that's the part I don't agree with. Investments can also yield non-fincancial (or less tangibly financial) gains. Investing time in your children's lives, investing in infrastructure, etc. We all use the word this way and understand its meaning. In this case, the reward, while intangible, is something you regularly exchange money for, so it should be relatively easy for you to understand. But that's just semantics in the end. We can agree to disagree if you like.
Why you think the fact that you can spend money on air conditioning impacts this argument in any way is the part I find baffling, and why I called you logically illiterate. It just doesn't fit into your argument in any way.
