I don't like how you say that
MGS3 down. Only had like four people and the bosses dead when I got to Sorrow so it was crazy fast down that river this time, and I got the extra camos from End and Boss. Pain and Fear weren't that great and Fury and Volgin were kind of annoying, but while I remembered End as being kind of boring I really got into it this time and the cat-and-mouse hunt was a lot of fun. I had to take down Boss twice because the camo doesn't make the normal item drop noise and I was in first-person view when I beat her so I didn't see it appear and missed it. I also totally forgot about where the sniper rifle was and missed my chance at taking down End at the warehouse.
I also just discovered that HD Collection doesn't have the secret theater, which makes me a very sad panda. Ah well, onto Portable Ops.
The secret theater is entirely on Youtube.
Metal Gear Raiden is the best thing to come out of the Metal Gear franchise.
I know it's on YouTube but it's nice to just have it right there.
P.S. My rank was Iguana. I know you're all jealous.
So while the PSP emulator isn't advanced enough to run MGS:PO yet, I did dig up a couple programs that let me display my PSP through my monitor/TV while using a 360 controller. So not only do I get to use a more comfortable controller with right-stick camera action (no claw grip needed!), but since it's my actual PSP displaying the game that means I can disconnect it and play it portable when ever I want. Hooray for getting it all!
I'm pretty sure the 3000 does all that out of the box but I'm still rocking a 1001.
Can you link those programs? I'd love to give that a shot.
Step by step instructions, and doing a Google search for the exact filenames he gives will get you the programs. The only thing not mentioned is that to configure the gamepad you have to hold down the button you want to map and then click the icon you want to map it to, the exact opposite of pretty much every other mapping program ever made.
Also: if it hangs on the PSP splash screen when loading the UMD, close RemoteJoy and then reopen it once the game has loaded.
MGS:PO is really short? I've only put maybe an hour or two of actual playtime into the missions and when I looked up some recruiting info I found I was almost halfway through the game.
So first I was dragging people back to the truck and got myself a little posse. Then I found the wifi soldier creator and proceeded to stick my PSP in my lap for my drive home from school and mash the circle button at every stop light. Never before have I been that happy to get red lights and actually be disappointed when I was passing yellow lights. All those potential solders, gone! I got myself like 20 guys on the way home just like Friday night so now I have pretty good groups in all the sections.
This is probably the weakest Metal Gear I've played. The missions are tinier than Ghost Babel, the sound radar is a good idea but seems to act pretty weird when it comes to telling me that someone is on their way to my location, dragging enemies all the way to the truck is lame (I know there are drop off points but they've never been more convenient for me than going all the way back), and it seems like side-missions are the primary order of the day. It's not a bad game (just when compared to other MG games) and the whole soldier recruitment thing is pretty cool and really helps tie in the idea of how Big Boss handles and obtains all his own soldiers for later projects, but it feels like an unlockable bonus from another game with some extra production values thrown in. The controls are also a little clumsier than normal and the framerate, while solid, is pretty low which really doesn't help matters.
This also reminded me that I own MGA2. Maybe I should give that another shot after I finish this canon playthrough.
