SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU ASS BAG!
;)
seriously dude, Jesus says that exact quote in the church approved Gospel of Luke as well, i let my girlfriend borrow my Students Life Bible, where i have highlighted numerous texts in both the Old and New Testament which basically make an ass out of Yahweh, God of the Jews, who seems more like a jealous and angry jerk than the creator of this universeand this is coming from a guy whos whole family is reborn Christians, my brother in law even runs his own Church...Quote:

maybe one day ill come back to some form of Christianity, but for now im happier and actually more morally straight without it.
Just a quick note about not being to understand God or judge God and his ability to make a boulder so heavy he can't lift it...
;)
The simplicity and craziness of Christianity is admitting you are a limited, sinful creature who needs God. That's about it; we are limited, and corrupt (also called sin nature) and can't judge/fully understand God because he is on another level than us, being the creator and perfect.
I think little eric mentioned it, but using human logic (which is not perfect, since it was created by man. Ok, that's pesky old circular logic...might have to restate that one) to understand divine logic is not possible. Which means we can debate all day, but we don't have the divine logic or nature to understand God. Is that a cop out? Well, its like saying Dog's can't write with a pen...they don't have the thumbs to do it. We don't have the perfect nature/divine nature to explain God. Which I think means belief in religion comes from faith, and not logic. But debating it is a good way to pass time at work.
:D
Ok, I get here late and I see that everything I want to say about God has been said. I can just imagine what would happen:
Joe#1: God doesn't exist dude.
Me: ummm.....uhhhh....
YOU'RE A CHICKEN!
Joe#1: but i've given you several points as to Gods' non existance man
why are you so hostile?
Me: cause...ummm... YOU'RE A CHICKEN!
anyway, I do have another question to pose to fellow christians:
(wanaheritheregoez)
Is it not too harsh for a non believer to be punished eternaly for what they have done in their life? I mean if God loves us all including the toughest meanest bastiches, then that means they can't rot forever.
I believe that maybe the best solution is oblivion rather than burning forever in the taint of eternal pain and torture and the hey hey it hurts me.
So anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Whoa, whoa, WHOA! I take a little time away from active duty and I return to this? Yeah, the thread is "Calling All Christians." Well, consider this post my calling a Christian on his obvious deception.Quote:

Thugg, though I like the guy, would stand no chance either.
They have never met a Christian the likes of me before, I guarantee it. And nothing their minds can concoct will prevail.
What makes you think you can throw in the towel and then raise your hands in victory?!? What makes you think you can make disparaging remarks about my arguments when yours hinge solely on the claim of divine revelation? What is this nonsense about not tackling your posts as a whole when I took the same point-by-point approach you yourself took?

Notice how I was arguing out of the Bible? I wasn't using science and logic as my primary sources. I was exploring the doctrine of predestination with you, backing up my points with Scripture. I do NOT live that Book. I am NOT a Christian, but I was discussing the Word with you, ignoring your self-aggrandizing and posturing. And what happened? You couldn't hang, so you bailed.
Arjue gave a good example of winning an argument without a concession by the losing side:
Is that what happened in that thread, CV? Where did you win? You still have a chance to answer my questions on free will vs. predestination. I will even dig out a Bible and a concordance to better provide chapter-and-verse citations on all quotes. Or will you just fall on the ECM defense:Quote:

The argument is worth nothing anymore, so you end it. It's sort of like euthanasia.
How's that for taking things out of context? Better yet, how's that for a cop-out on your part? Another news flash for you: neither Ethugg nor I cares if you like us. I seek the truth, not your approval.Quote:

So answer my honest questions - the ones you didn't answer in the other thread. Using Scripture, you understand. We don't have to leave the cozy confines of comforting Christendom. And if you can't handle a challenge on your home turf, using YOUR rule book, then watch who you bad mouth, lest he knock you down a peg or two.
Heavy stuff guys. No way will I read it all. I can't understand why Christians even try to argue about the validity of their religion to those who don't believe if all they have in the "factual" department are words from a book that could have been written by anyone and has no doubt been edited countless times since the King James version hit back in the 1500s or whenever. Does anyone here know King James? Was he an ace guy just looking out for the good of all mankind who divinely inspired, set out to bring forth an unparalleled book of truth and wisdom in order to facilitate each and every person of merit's journey upward to the pearly gates of heaven? Maybe, maybe not. I heard that there used to be all sorts of greedy politicians and "nobility" whose only goal was the utmost subordination from their subjects and the stockpiling of wealth and fine bitches. Odds are that whatever was written about King James in a historical light was commissioned by James himself or some member of his all powerful royal family.
So who knows what the hell is in the Bible and what it originally may have meant from whatever language King James' gang of hired whiteboys translated it from. Using anything written in the Bible as an argument toward all encompassing truth is shaky at best. Of course declaring any one thing as all encompassing truth is even more shaky but I suppose I'm done with this misguided rant.
On a highway to hell,

Hey Pacrappa,
the Dead Sea scrolls are valid proof that the Bible has not changed much. Many scholars have concurred that those scrolls were legit and when compared to the modern Kig James Bible, the text hold up. You should read up on it sometime.
Oh, and pick the dang squid, man! that avatar rules!

I'm not going to bother actually researching this, but I instead will conclude that anything on Jack Chick's website is automatically bullshit and not worth considering.
That's a valid point. I believe that Chick's website spells God G-O-D, so that must be bull too.Quote:

I didn't know you weren't around, and as such expected a reply sooner than that.
I'm sorry I got your panties in a bunch. I'll try to make my attempts at funnyness a bit more identifyable, as I can see how crappy this attempt turned out.
I will answer all of your suppositions as soon as I feel I am ready too...but I already know how this will end.
To everyone else: Thanks! I got off of the boards last night in a bit of disarray, imediatly followed by a debate on faith with my father...who isn't a Christian. He promptly turned it into a respect/gratefelness issue. It does my heart good to see others flying God's flag. I felt defeated last night, and now I feel wonderful. Thanks. :D
