Bayonetta 2 (Wii U, published by Nintendo)

It's a little different when the new console is equivalent to the current consoles. And the series started on the two other consoles that it's equivalent to.

And honestly with how multi-platform-crazy this gen has been, where every third party game is possible on every platform, it's a pretty big deal when a franchise gets locked down.

The only reason I have a 360 is someone gave it to me for watching their dog.

I'd like to say something about Bayonetta 2 but I have no idea if I'll be playing it or not. Maybe by this Christmas, maybe by 2014. I honestly have no idea at this point.

Honestly, with a lock on two Platinum games and a few other games that look decent if not great I would be willing to jump in. The bigger kicker to me is that I've got three Nintendo consoles in a row that each have four games at most that I would go back to. The potential for yet another "Look, we're recruiting third parties! And mature games! ...At least for a couple months until we stop caring," is just too great at this point for me to drop $300+. I'm still waiting for the 3DS and Vita to justify their price points to me, so this can sit on the back of that bus for now.

Maybe they'll get a lot more awesome shit and there'll be a new Metroid worth playing and so on, but while I'd really like one (I always love new consoles) I just can't trust Nintendo to care about anything besides their mascot games.
