Awesome.
Sure, but most of them come down to similarly obvious timed things. Star Wars was pretty much the birth of the basic blockbuster movie; even if Episode IV was to somehow have not existed previously and came out today it would be underwhelming (likely way more so than The Force Awakens will be). It's timeless because of when it came out, what it started, and those impacts on our culture, and that's not something which can really be recaptured by purposeful manufacturing.
It's not even like that. The originals are great. Popcorn flicks are still cool. The prequels were just inept and now the universe is tired and this will be a retread.
I'm pretty ok with lighting fire to the Extended Universe stuff and pilfering whatever was good at this point. This hits the right notes for me, I'm in.
The prequels were just boring, which made no sense. There's no reason for a Star Wars movie to talk about galactic trade policy.
I think this new one will be rad, I just don't really care.
I care.
So apparently the two dudes from The Raid are in this movie (!!!).

Showed my wife my original edition Episode IV VHS today. I don't have a player at home, it was at the mother-in-law's house. She liked it a lot.
I'm really mad I can't show her the original editions of the other two movies now. It's just...it makes me angry about star wars.
