Is this the best JJ Abrams movie? Because I find his movies great the first time around but nothing I would want to watch again (and again). I hope this is better than those 2 Star Trek movies which were good but completely forgettable.

I think Cloverfield is the movie of his I've seen the most (might also be the only one I own), but this is probably on par with the Star Trek ones.
He didn't direct Cloverfield.
Thought he did, oh well! Made the same mistake with Bay and TMNT.
Similarly, he did have a heavy hand as a producer!
I will watch this again without a doubt. I felt the same way about the new Trek movies—but I didn't rewatch the old ones either.Quote:

A few complaints, though. Some of the CG characters were too cartoony. Why did the Lincoln Memorial have to be CG? He looked humanoid enough with like, a gross ear.
It had some really cutesy/funny moments that felt a little out of place, but weren't bad necessarily. Just weird.
My one real complaint is how did Rey know about Jedi mind control at all? I kind of got the feeling there may be some deleted footage where she nerds out, Ariel style, on Rebel/Jedi artifacts. The most we got was the X-wing pilot helmet scene.
