That was one that on the very surface looked promising... but obviously not enough to actually acquire/play it.

4) Crysis 2 (360)
I messed around with the first game around the time it was released, but never got far so this is my first full Crysis experience. It's a lot of fun. Switching around the suit powers adds a lot, you always need to keep an eye on your power. Stealth is a lot of fun, the armor is great for all out Rambo and "oh shit, didn't see those 3 other guys" moments. The graphical and audio changes each modify is cool too. Really impressive for a PC to 360 port, the presentation is often amazing. Superb audio design, the destruction is awesome, lighting is really nice, but there is some pop in and the framerate can get a bit dicey.
The campaign reminded me a lot of Halo where it's super linear but the spaces you run around in get pretty big and let you take different approaches. I'd like to have seen more enemy types and found the normal difficulty to be a nice balance. Play smart and you're a monster, but if you get sloppy or don't scope a scene out right, you're boned. I got stuck a bunch of times (the autosave spots can be annoyingly placed sometimes) but taking a different approach and really using the gear I had made all the difference (fuck those big bastards with the shield and gatling gun, they take serious damage to drop).
It's a really well made FPS. I really liked all the different locations and set ups, there's a lot of fun level design from start to finish. The last bit of the game was disappointing, which seems to happen all the time these days. The last fight section has a new cloaked enemy (5 of them I think) and then you walk into a hole and that's it. I was shocked I finished the game, I totally thought I was headed inside for a last intense fight with more of these stealth buggers or a boss fight. No one can figure out how to end a game anymore, it's like they just run out of time to do any more design or something.
HEATHEN. INFIDEL.
Radiata was amazing, best PS2 rpg because i actually finished it. ALSO DDS WASN'T KIND OF IT WAS MOS DEF. Fuck the Suikodens though.
It was about the same as the other best gen, the PS1/Saturn, which gets extra points for wackiness. Shut up if you think SNES was the best because you're completely wrong. NO SHUT UP.

AFTER 4 YEARS OF ON AND OFF PLAYING
AFTER PROBABLY LIKE 100 HOURS BUT I'M NOT SURE, 3DS time says 30-something hours, but i played mostly on DSiXL..
Etrian Odyssey 2- HOLY SHIT. The beginning was a drag, that one fucking floor with the FOEs everywhere almost made me stop playing, but everything after like the 2nd floor, and except the 23rd or 22nd, whatever it was, was dang good. I might actually keep playing the after game, but i expect the final final 5 floors to take a long, long time.
#8 - Contra: Hard Corps (Genesis)
This game was all around pretty great. It also wasn't hard at all; you guys are pussies.
4. Ys I & II Chronicles+ Ancient Ys Vanished Omen

This is a really weird game. It has nice art, excellent music, some visually cool bosses, and tearing through enemies kinda has its charms. The lack of a save structure (this game has literally no options but "save anywhere but boss fights") and the ability to regenerate health in most areas make the player alternate from breezing through dungeons to sloppily retrying a boss battle until they trip over a victory. It's not a bad game, just not at all what I was hoping for after the excellent Oath in Felghana.
1. Resident Evil 5 (PC) - This game turned out better than I thought. It's not as good as RE4 (which is overrated on the internet anyway), but a cool twist for the series. Upgrading weapons is fun and unlike most games today they don't shower you with money to do it! The mechanics are odd but distinct. It doesn't play badly. The battles in 6-1 and 6-3 could have been terrible but Capcom tuned the game so you could still get through them without going nuts. Good game.
Of course Capcom didn't release the Gold DLC for PC so I can't play those. Thanks guys.
What difficulty did you choose? I have a feeling part of my disdain for the game is that I was too aggressive in picking.
