Dead Space offered the rather brilliant compromise of offering a lot more control but balancing it out by actually demanding more from it, thanks to the dismemberment thing. It really was a great survival horror. Too bad the series got away from that.Quote:

Neither of the original Crysis' 2 sequels can top it, but this is still a solid game and serves as a good closer to the series. There's more verticality in some areas. While there are fewer stages, each one is a good length making this one about as long as Crysis 2 (which has 18 stages but with some short ones in there).
Cloaking is a bit unbalanced with little energy loss from using the bow or silenced weapons. It's possible to off 4 Cell soldiers in one full bar of uninterrupted cloak using a light draw weight on the bow. The bow itself is a bit too powerful. It doesn't take a headshot to 1HKO Cell enemies. Regular arrows never break and can easily be retaken. And when someone haplessly comes up to investigate the spot where you just wasted their teammate... POW. Stay cloaked, lie in wait, say goodnight.
One good change is the return of the first person view for driving vehicles. Tactical Options are gone, but they were never really necessary.

I really don't know anything about this genre, so I'm the worst person to talk about how it stacks up to other games, mechanically. I can say that it's probably the prettiest tactics game that I've seen. The marriage thing is a cool idea, the support scenes are charming, the music is good, the fight scenes are well-done. Especially glad that the battles and UI move at a quick pace, unlike FFT. Normal mode is a complete cakewalk, even without going out of your way for sidequests or using Reeking Boxes to spawn fights with Risen. I hear that not all Fire Emblem games let you do grindy stuff like the latter... I also have no idea how good the other difficulty levels are.
Normal mode is for babies. Hard mode isn't easy even with a little grinding. It would actually be hard without. Nightmare is accurately self-descriptive.
11.) Corpse Party: Book of Shadows (PSP)
Tones down the cheese (although there's still a few panty shots/bathing scenes) and goes all out with the atmosphere and gore. I ended up liking this one a lot more than the first game.
12.) Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3)
Raiden is a badass.
This will most likely end up as my GOTY. That Platinum is able to deliver such precise and intuitive control at the speed the game moves at is insane. Once you have a handle on the play mechanics and individual enemy patterns, the combat is a beautiful thing to behold. The parallels to real-world events could definitely have been more subtle, but I didn't find them quite as ridiculous as some have. Oh, and those last boss fights are just ridiculously awesome. Time to start working on the VR missions and a playthrough on Hard.
13.) One Piece: Pirate Warriors (PS3)
Omega Force is on the verge of actually making a title even non-Musou fans would enjoy.

14.) Valkyria Chronicles (PS3)
It took me a while to finally finish this up, thanks to some weird difficulty spikes during a couple of missions. I'd get stuck and then play something else for a while before coming back and trying again. Beautiful presentation. I hear the sequels aren't anywhere near as good, so I'll probably quit while I'm ahead with this series.
4. Jak & Daxter
I had every intention of 100%-ing this, but the level designers gave up around the 3/4 mark, so I did the same. Everything before the volcano was great, though.

3. Tomb Raider - 69% complete by going through the story with no backtracking.
