Howdy folks. Some of you may remember me, but most of you have lives so you probably don't. I used to post fairly frequently, but I became busy over the years with work and school.
Anyway, I made a game for iOS. I recently quit my job and emptied my retirement account in order to live the dream of making games, and this is my first attempt.
It's called "Fowl Ball" and it was developed as a challenge from my friend and business partner. He told me to make a game that would look like it could work on the Atari 2600. So, I began to research the hardware and came up with this. It's not entirely perfect, as I changed the resolution and goofed on the sprites (I ended up holding myself to two colors per sprite instead of the limitation of one color per line).
So, the game isn't perfect. It's meant to be a one-screen arcade game, and that's what it is. As a way of saying "thanks" to TNL for all the great times I used to have, I wanted to offer some download codes to you crazy kids. I've got 25 codes I can give away. You can check the game out here. I haven't listed more than one screenshot because, for God's sake, there's nothing else to see.
That's it: 2600-like, single screen arcade game for iOS. I've been told that your first three games will suck, so this is the first in the Shit Series of games. Anyway, I'd appreciate feedback. Tell me what's good, tell me what could be better. Please don't rip me a new one, I sort of beg you.
There is no music. This is a design choice due to the Atari being unable to handle multiple sounds at a time.
That being said, if you'd like a copy, you can either a) send me a PM and I'll respond with a code (if you're in the first 25) or b) "help a brother out" and buy the game. Either way, you'd have my thanks. I always appreciated TNL and the fun I had back in the day.
Thanks guys.
