You're making me want to play a FE game now.
Sounds like that bandit did you a favor. FE games have a lot replay value to me, I don't mind losing people here and there as long as they weren't a focus for that playthrough (or I need them for an unlock or item or something). I am guilty of resets after leveling if I get bad rolls though. Has there been a better FE game than Sacred Stones yet? The GC versions were lackluster.
This one seems pretty great, but I honestly don't even know what a WiiU is, or imagine ever owning one.

Plus there was only one GC FE afaik.

Well there you go, I'm really out of the loop. The Wii version seems like late-life GC title that just got shifted over. DS version was a remake. Still feels like the GBA versions have to be improved on, but again, this versions seems legit.
I think even if you reset, that it's still a better way than playing on Casual. If you do Casual mode, then it's Don't Give a Fuck mode for planning and execution. Just survive to the end of a fight. If you're doing permadeath and resetting, it's not 'the same thing' - there's still a HUGE incentive to play strategically because you wanna make a fight count (and not have to do it over and over).
Yeah, the console ones didn't set the world on fire or anything, but this new one is a lot more impressive. They did a really good job on it.
NO. Fire Emblem LOVES to be a pain in the ass by sending wandering idiot characters you're trying to recruit into the middle of a bunch of archers. That shit is obnoxious enough when the random number generator wants to shit on my face with a surprise whiff at 96% chance of contact followed by a critical counter. If the game called it "Super Baby Easy Mode" and "Real Fucking Man Mode, You Ain't a Pussy, Are Ya?" and followed it with "ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE A FUCKING BABY? YOU GONNA CRY ABOUT IT?" when you chose "BABY MODE", it'd still be the way to go.Quote:
