I play it on Permadeath difficulty hard and still reset. The purpose is more that the game is incredibly easy if you don't have to worry about anyone but your MCs dieing. Lunatic is not this way though haha.

These games* are so much more fun if you just play with what you got. They're* designed around the assumption that you're not constantly thumbing through a FAQ or resetting all over the place.
I thought you guys were bosses that Darked Souls and Xed COMs on For Bosses Only mode.
* = the one I played for GBA.
My first runthrough will be casual. No achievements to have me flip out over.
It's not easy, it's just a hell of a lot less annoying. I reset the fucking game enough already without having to worry about Sully going away forever.
I worry tons about losing characters though. I mean, it's the same mechanism as XCOM, but I really worry in FE. XCOM is stressful & I get bummed when I lose someone, but it's part of the experience to me and I carry on. I think FE's permadeath is worse because every character has a personality. You could get attached to XCOM characters, but there are more hooks to force that feeling in FE.
I also deleted my save and started all over after finding out that there's a limited number of encounters, and Fredrick hogging kills is the dumbest thing you can do.
You guys all peeked ahead before committing to Choose Your Own Adventure book choices, didn't you. I bet you did it all furtive-like even though nobody was watching because you were ashamed of yourselves.
Why the fuck are people paying $50-$60 for Shadow Dragon?!
I must dump all the ones I bought for $10 now, before people wise up!
Action games, yes. I'm terrible at strategy games. Riding dat normal.I just flat out hated them because they never seemed to make any sense.Quote:

My friend is in danger, so I'll go to page 79 to help him. We both die from a rock that falls out of the sky.
That man I don't know looked at me strangely, so I'll turn to page 44 to stab him in the face for no good reason. Turns out he had the winning lottery ticket and I'm set for life.
Fuck those books.
i only played the 1st GBA Fire Emblem, but what i remember was less difficult than Fire Emblem Hard Mode Awakening, even with the characters dying forever.
Does this game let you create an in-battle save state with unlimited reloads (like Radiant Dawn)? I don't mind constant resetting, but I don't like to take it from the top every time.
