This farmer better be worth it.
He's a murder machine once you get him to speed. Make sure you're pairing him up with Frederick or Kellam to boost his def/atk while you try to get him there, though.
Yeah I'm on chapter 11 now and got him to 15 and reclassed him to merc. He can basically solo maps now. I send him into giant mobs and just watch them all attack him, miss and die immediately to his counter attack
Excellent. I had hoped they wouldn't have made me jump through that hoop for nothing.
I'm very, very slowly getting into this.
Playing on Hard/permadeath. After an hour of playing on and off, I'm slowly grasping how this game works. I'm going to start over now and try not to lose my cleric and mage so quickly.
I'm very new to FE but I appreciate all the similarities to Advance Wars. IntSys knows how to make a good strategy game.
How far do I have to go so I can download the free DLC before the cutoff in March?
chapter 5
What if I get there but want to restart at a later date with a brand new save file? Will I keep the DLC? Nintendo has to be weird about everything.
I would like to assume the DLC is kept in your download history like those dumb roms.
OK, yeah, you're probably right. I'll try it out.
Just for the record the Galeforce skill is broken OP
Yeah finally got around to getting it for Cordelia (So that Severa will inherit it).
Finally settled on a wife for the MU Tiki, I'm curious what effect she'll have. Supposedly there's something tearjerking if you pick Lucina.
The Children characters really are ridiculously powerful.
I got Galeforce on the MU and paired her up with Chrom. Both Lucina and Morgan have Galeforce and they're crazy powerful. Those two alone just run around and wipe out every map in seconds
Just finished Chapter 9 (wow), but defeated Tharja in the big battle only to later realize that was my chance to recruit her to my team. Unfortunately I already saved.
Don't really want to miss out on a character, so I might just start over.
That really sucks, because Tharja is the best :/.
But on the other hand, starting over.
I'm at chapter 12 on my Lunatic playthrough after beating the game on hard. Unfortunately it's completely put aside for Etrian now so who knows what will happen!
I don't read faqs and stuff so I'm expecting to miss people here and there. Usually there's a ton anyway.
Are the dload characters not going to be free soon? Do I need to summon every single damn one to the field?
Out of all the Fire Emblems, this one is the easiest to get everyone. There's no one you pay 30k gold for, no one you have to talk to with anyone besides Chrom, though some can be. Basically if you see a face that might be friendly, Chrom will recruit them. The DLC you have to summon to the field but they're not that interesting anyways, just recruit them and toss them for their renown :3
Oh god that's going to take forever. To clarify, I mean do I have to summon them before the March date that makes it turn to pay DLC so that they remain free forever.
DLC works through the Outworld Gate, unlocked in Chapter 5. The free DLC is Champions of Yore #1, a map where your squad plus a few classic male FE characters face off against classic female FE characters. Afterwards you can recruit Prince Marth.
The Bonus Box includes free Spotpass content which, as far as I know, remains permanently. Just keep checking it, maybe even updating it, to acquire new content.
i wasn't paying much attention to support stats and then BOOM Chrom proposes to Sully. whatever, I'll go with it
That's the only one that really happens like that like because of the story. Everyone else is whenever you want it.
Ugh, so the bonus box stuff isn't even the DLC stuff yet. I have to play even more!
It's pretty early. You have time.
This game stresses me out so much. I'm not made for it.
Finally snagged that DLC with hours to spare. Suck it, Nints!
I had to stop playing the Gamecube one because it's bad. The maps are big empty rectangles with a billion carelessly placed enemies, almost all of which were Lance Guys on every damn map. So I had one Axe Guy who was eight levels ahead of everyone. Also, using a pre-promoted Sniper as a meat shield didn't feel right.
So I moved on to this (Hard, Classic). It's so good. Pairing up is great. Having infinite support conversations is great. Not having to guess at arcane recruitment conditions is great. No Weight stat is great. Little feet are great.
This is the best one.
Great
:)
The infinitely visitable DLC maps break the game a little, yeah? Maybe "break" is too strong a word, but they at least reduce the game from being perfect to being merely brilliant.
It's pay to win. They're gross.
I abused them on my lunatic second playthrough mostly because that was my "try to make a ridiculous team" run. One day I'll go back to it, just need to beat those remaining DLC missions on Lunatic. Then I will have completed that game to as much as I ever want to (fuck Lunatic+ mode)
Ugh, I still need to finish this. It's so good. I've become a perfectionist though! I hate losing people at this stage in the game. It doesn't feel right outliving my future offspring, so if they die I reload the map. I should stop doing that and just finish the game already.
I recently purchased the Wii Fire Emblem. Is that one good? Where does it fit in the series?
Fire Emblem games are like Final fantasy, the games usually are not related to each other. The Wii game is a sequel to the Gamecube one, which is an exception.
Thracia 776 takes place between two chapters of the FE that came before it. OG FE is related to Gaiden and Awakening. The first two GBA games are related.
Fire Emblem 1 and Fire Emblem 3 are also related. 3 even has a remake of the first one included.
Reeking box:
In-game cost: a lot.
Number of uses: 1
Potential EXP yield: 1 map's worth.
DLC Map:
In-game cost: 0
Number of uses: infinite
Potential EXP yield: infinite maps' worth.
I can't speak for the japanese only titles (although most have been fan translated) but the only bad one I've played is the DS one. The GBA, Cube, and Wii games are all excellent, and Awakening seems to be fantastic.
Cube is better than the average SRPG, but is lazily designed. The maps could have been procedurally generated, and the game-specific gimmicks (beast transformation, Shove command, biorhythm) are uninspired. Also, it's very ugly and brown. It looks like Gladius.
