Doom
Necropolis or something like that it was a comic book like game
Diablo
Jrpg- Final Fantasy II- i think that was like the height of any video game i ever played in my entire life. My friend and i played it until 10 o'clock and we beat the Magus sisters.
Racing Game- F-Zero- it was probably actually Rad Racer or something, but the first one i played was F-Zero. I actually wanted Final Fantasy II and F-Zero that Christmas, but the message didn't get through, so we just kept renting FFII
Computer Game- Word Muncher, Odell Lake, something like that
Console Game- Frogger? Or Donkey Kong? Something stupid on Atari. Super Mario Bros. was the first one i actually liked.
FPS- Um, Doom. i actually haven't played a whole lot of those.
Point n' Click- Maniac Mansion
Online Multiplayer- Ragnarock Online

JRPG - probably FF3 on SNES, unless you call ALTTP a JRPG
Racing game - Probably F-Zero, or maybe an arcade game I can't remember.
Computer Game - Aside from Math Blasters or Oregon trail on the Macs at school... Warcraft II
Console game - Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt
FPS - Doom on PlayStation
Adventure game - Willy Beamish on Sega CD.
Online MP game - Duke 3D on Kali
JRPG? Shiing in the Darkness I think. Briefly saw things like Zelda and some NES rpg I've never seen again. Lunar 1 was the first one I played on my own and beat.
Racing game? Pole position or something else on the atari.
Computer game? Something on that atari you could build into a computer. Maybe ducks ahoy, moon patrol, some Sesame street game I can't remember
Console game? Somethig atari, Altered Beast on the Gen.
FPS? Wolfenstein
Point n' click Adventure game? Kings Quest or Willy Beamish
Online multiplayer game? Quake
JRPG:
Phantasy Star. I had never seen anything like it, but when I saw the box I knew I had to have it. It was like $10 used at the flea market, which was the most expensive game I had ever seen, and I asked my dad for an advance on my allowance so I could get it. I think if I had known it was $80 in the store at the time I'd have lost my shit.
Racing game:
Pole Position, I think. I couldn't say for sure if it was the Atari version or the arcade though.
Computer game:
Artillery Duel, or some freeware clone thereof.
Console game:
Berzerk (Atari 2600)
FPS:
Catacomb Abyss. I miiiight have played Wolfenstein first, but Catabyss was the first one I owned and beat. I bought all the sequels too, but I only had an EGA computer so I couldn't get Wolfenstein or Doom until 1994.
Point n' click Adventure game:
Transylvania (Apple II) was my first graphical adventure, and Hugo's House of Horrors was the first one I actually owned. Neither were point-and-click, of course, but I'm going to assume you just mean "real adventure games" rather than the control method.
Online multiplayer game:
Not 100% sure, but I can tell you for sure I was a late bloomer. Maybe Unreal Tournament or PSO?
JRPG? Final Fantasy (NES)
Racing game? Pole Position (Arcade)
Computer game? Ghostbusters or Batman (Apple IIgs)... I think
Console game? Combat (2600)
FPS? Wolfenstein 3D (PC)
Point n' click Adventure game? Where in the US/World is Carmen San Diego? (Apple IIgs)
Online multiplayer game? Quake III Arena (DC) maybe?
edit: MechDeus reminded me of Carmen San Diego
Some of these are when I was between 1-2 years old and that might also be where some real firsts are lost to memory, so these aren't necessarily the most accurate.
JRPG - Dragon Warrior. I hated RPGs back then, but this may have been an irrational hate not based on any prior experience. This is the first one I'm positive of.
Racing game - Pole Position.
Computer game - This I can't even pretend to get a clear image of, it was probably Oregon Trail or Carmen Sandiago. There was also this Asteroids-esque game for Macs called something about gems or jewels that I played the living fuck out of after class.
Console game - Pick a random game on Atari.
FPS - Wolfenstein 3D. This I clearly remember as being the future.
Point n' click Adventure game - Shadowgate, I think. Might've been something before that. [edit] Might've been a King's Quest and/or Space Quest in here. Not sure when I played those series.
Online multiplayer game - Pretty sure it was Nethack. I didn't really care for it too much, only played like 30 minutes. I didn't have the internet at home yet so I only tried it at school and the only PC that could connect to the internet was my instructor's so I had to use his for it, as the rest were just networked for playing Doom. I might've gotten into it if I had played from home.
You know, when it said computer game, I was strictly thinking IBM compatible. If I count Apples and Commodores and what-not, I seriously have no idea.
It's alright, nobody really cares about your (or anyone else's) list.
I would say anything that you could buy a printer for and write programs for was a home computer.
Dragon Warrior - got it for free and hated everything about it because I was a stupid kid.
Pole Position - Atari 2600 iirc
Oregon Trail - dysentery the game, played on a PC at school before I had one at home. Might have also been Where in the World on an Apple IIe, but who knows?
Pong - my dad had a stand-alone Pong console we used to play. It was like HOLY SHIT I AM MOVING THINGS IN THE TV!
Wolfenstein 3D - duh
Forgot about Shadowgate, that is probably right!
Doom over a fucking modem beeeeeeep ooooooooooop bronnnnnnnnnnnk eeeeeeeeeeeee
edit: FINE SSJN I will make an effort
JRPG? Probably Drakkhen or some garbage like that. I literally had no idea what I was doing.
Racing game? Enduro
Computer game? Number Munchers, maybe? I don't know.
Console game? Q*Bert or Space Invaders or something
FPS? Zero Tolerance or Doom
Point n' click Adventure game? Was Leisure Suit Larry point and click?
Online multiplayer game? Maybe PSO?
JRPG?
Dragon Warrior
Racing game?
Enduro (2600)
Computer game?
Oregon Trail
Console game?
Combat (2600)
FPS?
Wolfenstein 3D
Point n' click Adventure game?
Quest for Glory
Online multiplayer game?
Diablo
JRPG? Dragon Quest (still never beat it)
Racing game? Hard Driving
Computer game? that vector graphics Star Wars game
Console game? SMB
FPS? Wolfenstein 3D
Point n' click Adventure game? The Manhole
Online multiplayer game? maybe Diablo, or Warcraft 2?
JRPG: Phantasy Star - SMS: The best game I have played to that point in my life. My mind was blown. My favorite 8-bit game.
Racing game: Spy Hunter or Pole Position - Arcade: I really don't know
Computer game: Karateka - Apple system: Pronounced "Care-a Tee-ka" because we were kids. Fuck that hawk.
Console game: Uhhh Maze Craze, Pacman, or Phoenix - Atari 2600: When I was four or five we had a black and white tv and a 2600. I remember playing a few games. Maybe Maze Craze was a pack-in?
FPS: Wolfenstein 3D - PC: Yeah that shareware game with only a few levels. I didn't have a PC at the time so I only got to play it a bit at a friends. Seemed impressive at the time.
Point n' click Adventure game: Tass Times in Tonetown - C128: I remember my brother and I picked this up because the graphics on the back were from the Amiga version and we thought it looked awesome. It didn't look as good and we had no idea what was going on. If this wasn't considered a point and clicker.. then I probably played Maniac Mansion either before or soon after. I think we called it Manic Mansion.
Online multiplayer game: We played some stuff on BBS like Pimp Wars and Barren Realms Elite.
First online FPS: Unreal Tournament 99 - PC: This is the best game ever. One of those times where you knew you were looking into the future.
First MMORPG: Everquest - PC: I finally got a PC and picked up EQ after reading about it and dreaming of how cool it would be. It was pretty impressive, and I have a lot of memories of all the stupid stuff we did, but I didn't end up playing it much. Thank god.
Pokemon
Gran Turismo 3
Commander Keen
Sonic 2
Halo
999?
Gears of War
JRPG: Phantasy Star (SMS): I was in 6th grade when I played it. The story, the graphics, the exploration. How every single weapon had a different graphical reprsentation, each planet had its own theme song, 3D dungeons that still look cool and animate incredibly well (nothing in the 16 bit era could touch them). It had lightsabers! It was an 8bit technical showcase. I love this game. It's probably the reason I love video games to this day.
Racing game: Pole Position (Arcade): Not much to say here. It was the only arcade game at some place I was vacationing as a kid.
Computer game: Zaxon (IBM PC): Although technically an arcade game, it was the first game I ever layed on a PC. I tried to play this again a couple of years ago and I just can't.
Console game: Defender (Atari 2600): I loved how the arcade game looked and sounded. I convinced myself when I played this at a friend's house that it was exactly the same
FPS: Halo (Xbox): So this is a genre that I was not into back in the day (I skipped Doom and the like). I got this as a gift from my best friend right after Halo 2 came out. I almost re-gifted it without giving it a chance. My wife convinced me by stating: "when has he ever given you a gift you didn't like?" So I popped it in and never looked back. I know there's a lot of hate for Halo, but it's the only FPS I really enjoy. In fact, I don't think that I own a non-Halo FPS. I'm not saying that it's the best the genre has to offer, I'm just saying that I like it a lot. I don't play multiplayer though.
Point n' click Adventure game: The Longest Journey (PC): As with the FPS, this is a type of game I just didn't play. The fact that I did not own a computer until my junior year of college did not help (yeah, my family was very very poor). I started this 4 years ago because of the praise it got on TNL. Because I was using a virtual machine to play it, the experience was not that great and I never finished it. I may go back to it some day.
Online multiplayer game: Street Fighter III: Third Strike. This is the game I purchased an Xbox Live subscription for.
What was your first [time experiencing]...
JRPG? - Phantasy Star on the Sega Master System ...man was I blown away. The second was Dragon Warrior and I laughed at it.
Racing game? - Turbo in the early 80's arcade scene
Computer game? - I think the first computer game I ever played was some lunar landing game in the early 80's in grade school (4th grade I think). I don't remember the name. It had some kind of vector graphic look to it.
Console game? - Combat on the 2600 (my first console)
FPS? - damn...I think its Wolfenstein 3D unless you want to count Faceball 2000 back in '91 or something. lol
Point n' click Adventure game? - Leisure Suit Larry
Online multiplayer game? - Half Life Deathmatch when I bought my first pc in 1999 and went online for the first time.
JRPG: Mario RPG
Racing game: Probably F-Zero or Mario Kart, though I'm sure I had to have played some racing game for the NES.
Computer game:Some DOS games that were for kids that helped you learn... something. They had several different games and I can't remember any names, but one of my favorites involved finding clues about which robot was causing havoc in some little 2 story shopping center.
Console game: Super Mario Brothers
FPS: Doom
Point n' click Adventure game: Maniac Mansion
Online multiplayer game: Quake III
JRPG?
Dragon Warrior

JRPG: Final Fantasy. I played it at a cousin's house. And erased his save. Sorry, Mike! I recall being really impressed by how it looked and sounded, as the PC RPGs I had played had never been real lookers.
Racing game: Pole Position. At least, I think this was the first. It might have been some laserdisc racing game, but I was really young and don't remember much.
Computer game: Been playing these since before I could read. I think my first was Horizon V.
Console game: Super Mario Bros. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to jump, as a controller with TWO BUTTONS was pretty shocking and beyond my limited knowledge.
FPS: Wolfenstein 3D. I played Ultima Underworld first, but that's not really an FPS. I was distinctly unimpressed with it when I played it at a friend's place, especially after the complexity and graphical detail in Looking Glass's classic. Conversely, he wasn't particularly impressed by the slow pace and limited viewing distance when he came over to play the game I had been raving about!
Point 'n' click adventure: Space Quest IV. I played my way through the majority of classic Sierra titles, and this was the first one I encountered that didn't use a parser.
Online multiplayer: Quake. I got my ass kicked. It didn't help that I was using some ghetto 486 DX2/66, and it thus ran at about 5 fps.
Fuck that game and SimEarth.
JRPG- The Final Fantasy where those guys turn to stone for a reason I can't remember. Was that 3 or 4?
Racing Game- Pole Position, I think. Was never good at it.
Computer Game- Oregon Trail or Word/Number Munchers. Apple IIe at school jams.
Console Game- The pack in with the Atari 2600 that had 60 variations of the same tank concept. I remember a lot of Dig Dug and Pitfall with that.
FPS- Wolfenstein 3D
Point N Click Adventure- Either Space Quest or Leisure Suit Larry (I think around the 3rd game in each series). My friend Jon was a huge Sierra fan.
Online Multiplayer Game- Pretty sure it was Xband on Genesis, 90% sure it was Mortal Kombat II first. Quake shareware after that I think. Or Starcraft? I think SC came after Quake.
SimEarth was the fucking jam, although I could never figure out how to make anything sentient except birds. Fucking avian master race.
I never got around to playing Sim Earth, but I enjoyed the shit out of Sim Tower. Sim Ant and Sim City 2000 were fun, but my neighborhood buddy and I would play Sim Tower as if it was the main controls to Jurassic Park and then go out in the woods with out toy guns as if we were hunting velociraptors. No idea how the two got connected, but damn it was fun.
It's interesting how many people in that 30-35 age bracket were using Apple IIe computers back in the early/mid 80s. We had computer lab for an hour every week and I'd count the days until it was my turn again. I think we were learning to program in Logo?
Edit: When I say "program", I really just mean creating basic shapes.
I didn't like SimTower.
I played SimAnt a fair bit though (on SNES!)
I always felt like Sim Tower could have been awesome but wasn't quite. Like a lot of sims, it's really fun at first and then you kind of lose interest once you can just proceed unencumbered.
JRPG: Dragon Warrior on NES. I didn't know what the hell I was doing, but it was good fun. To this day I've never beaten this version.
Racing game: Probably Pole Position in the arcade. I played that all the time, although little Gohan never really figured out that you had to slow down in the corners. I still play this on GBA once in a while, it's still fun.
Computer game: Not sure, my rich bud had a 8086 back when nobody could afford a home PC. It had lots of shitty games, but I do remember playing Below the Root. When I got my own PC in 96 or so my first game was Wing Commmander 2.
Console game: I was playing the 2600 that my grandma had longer than I can remember, so I have no idea. The first console game that I owned was Donkey Kong for the Colecovision.
FPS: Wolfenstein 3D shareware, played on a B&W laptop. Awesome.
Point n' click Adventure game: Does Shadowgate count?
Online multiplayer game: Jedi Knight. I didn't play it much, but I was backstabbing people with the lightsaber like a motherfucker.
First Import Game: Xmen vs Street Fighter for the Saturn. Playing an arcade perfect port at home while it was still popular in the arcade was mind blowing.
Probably a third of my playtime with SimEarth was seeing how fast I could destroy a planet. The rest was building up advanced civilizations and then seeing how well they coped with the destruction of their planet.
Same here. My love of the show "Automan" had me trying to design a guy in Logo. It totally wasn't gay or anything. I just wanted a pal who could make a Lamborghini out of nothing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXGkI__d-pU
JRPG: Final Fantasy
Racing game: RC Pro AM and then Ivan "Ironman" Stewarts Off Road fucker. Four player action, bitches. (got both in the same day)
Computer game: Thexder on the Apple IIGS (followed shortly thereafter by Silpheed) I remember one of these had an AWESOME sounding version of Moonlight Sonata as the title screen music.
Console game: Some game for the 2600. I honestly believe it was E.T.
FPS: Never played one
Point n' click Adventure game: Space Quest
Online multiplayer game: Starcraft
My list is top tier as fuck.
What did you do, go to school with buttcheeks?
My high school wasn't much better. In my sophmore or junior year (95 or 96) I had a computer applications class that was supposed to focus on teaching Windows 95 and office. The computers we had were 386's with Dos and MS Works.
Near the end of the year the teacher went out for maternity leave and I loaded Mortal Kombat on all the computers. The sub gave no fucks.
It was just this really small school in a town of cheap conservative fucks who didn't want to pay property taxes. It wasn't even a bad area, but the school had no busses, old ass books, and everything was run on a shoestring.
We did eventually get real computers, but it was like... after the web was a must-have and shit.
I seem to be a bit younger than a lot of you.
JRPG: Honestly, I think Chrono Trigger (unless you count Secret of Mana). Of course I was a huge Zelda freak before all this, but I remember CT's menu system blowing me away at the time. I tried explaining it to all of my friends in elementary school after I played it.
Racing game: I suppose it's entirely possible I rented R.C. Pro Am and the like for NES, but I know Super Mario Kart came with my Super Nintendo.
Computer game: Certainly Scorched Earth. It remains a favorite. I remember we also had some ridiculous pinball game—Freaky Pinball? Freak Pinball? Something like "freak" in the title. I think there was some pointy-noised background character...
Console game: Most likely Super Mario Bros.
FPS: Probably Doom. Probably the demo.
Point n' click Adventure game: I suppose Maniac Mansion, but the one I really fell in love with was Deja Vu.
Online multiplayer game: This is hard to place, but I'm going to guess Starcraft. I remember waiting around for a patch or something for sooooo long.
First fighting game: I know I remember looking at Cammy and Chun-Li's legs in Nintendo Power. I guess I probably played the arcade cabinet of SF2 at the local pizza place before it went out of business.
First beat em up: Turtles 2 (NES)?
First game that made me break a controller: I remember Star Fox 64 pushing me nearly to tears one day
First online FPS: This would be Team Fortress Classic. My friend's username was "RealHighPing"... ahhh, we didn't have broadband in our town until like 2004.
First MMORPG: Does 10Six count? Cause that game was fun as hell.
First sim game: Fuck SimAnt. I still don't understand how to play it either.
Indeed, i have never played an adventure game. not a single one. seen them. though.
JRPG: Dragon Warrior. First played at a friend's place whose name was Matt, so the character's name was TTAM. I remember feeling so boss when enemies that used to potentially kill the character would run away on encounters later on in the game. I also remember running the tunnel with the princess in it so often that I could navigate it without using a torch or casting the light spell.
Racing game: Intellivision Auto Racing. Two player games were usually played without either player ever making a single lap in the course. Constant games of chicken and bumper cars were awesome. I recall making the discovery on my own that all five tracks were found on a single map and that you could wander off track from one of the courses and find another, as well as find stretches of pavement that were completely isolated.
Computer game: A next door neighbor had a Tandy which is where I had my first PC gaming. The games I most distinctly recall were Space Quest I, Maniac Mansion ("why is the NES version edited?", I asked myself when I played that version later), some ASCII Pacman knockoff that had a gigantic map which took eons to complete, and some Space Invaders clone which changed the entire background color at every level and had enemies that got insanely fast when you were at the final few.
Console game: There's a picture of me playing Intellivision Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack when I was in diapers.
FPS: wolf3d /goobers. I like how the shareware advertisements made specific mention that the game was banned in Germany. I recall enjoying the feeling of playing the game while listening to Christmas carols, as I liked the juxtaposition of the two concepts. I never played Wolf3D with a sound card until years later, and it still seems foreign to me. I expect the PC speaker beeps.
Point n' click Adventure game: I think I played Space Quest I before Maniac Mansion. I recall laughing my ass off at getting drunk at a bar and the guy struggling with the controls.
Online multiplayer game: Diablo 3. I never made an effort to play any of this shit. Then, my wife wanted to get the game because her WOW friends were getting it, and mention of that to coworkers made them insist that I should try it. Of course, the game I choose to really jump into this genre turns out to be the one that the highest majority of players hate the most. Awesome.
First fighting game: I remember being intimidated by SF2 before I would play it, but the character detail and responsiveness eventually sucked me into playing it. Having accurate home ports helped to fuel my desire to play the games without finding arcades to do so. On this subject, it can be argued that Intellivision Boxing is a fighting game, in that it featured two combatants and a lot of button mashing in hopes of doing something to win.
First beat em up: Final Fight. I never had a Genesis in growing up, and didn't get to SOR before playing FF first. I always chose Haggar and piledrived constantly.
First game that made me break a controller: Saturn Darkstalkers. I had a cheap joystick that was a pile of shit and, after losing at this game too much, got infuriated with it enough to take it out to the street and smash it with a sledgehammer.
First online FPS: I count LAN Descent for this. It basically spoiled me on the genre.
First MMORPG: None, unless D3 is counted here.
First sim game: Intellivision Utopia. I thought it was so bizarre how I was able to find "holes" in the top and bottom of the map where you could sail ships and have them disappear from the screen, only to have them reappear on the other side. Sometimes I think of the game just by looking at the § character and thinking that it's a hurricane. I remember playing that with people and thinking to myself that there should be some kind of version of that game where you made cities. Seems that I wasn't the only person with that idea.
Did your copy of Space Quest I look like this?
http://www.lcurtisboyle.com/nitros9/...suit_larry.gif
lol
Also: As with recent Blizzard games you're just hearing a vocal minority that wants to pretend they're clearing all the content and that D3 is stupid. All they actually want are terrible game mechanics which create an artificial high barrier of entry so that they can pretend they're super awesome at ARPGs when they grind for a month straight and get nothing out of it.
Well, whatever the reason, most players have quit playing D3 and the few who remain usually have some legitimate complaints about it. That 107's new crafting made even more drops worthless is just one example of how things continue to go from bad to worse.
One positive thing about the entire experience is that I can use the game as a reference for why I won't chase the multiplayer experience in current or future releases. Oh, you're playing TL2 now? Yeah, not anymore. Oh, you're all excited for POE? For how long - a week? Titan? Yeah, let me spend $60 on that so that I can build up a friends list that quickly goes gray.
I don't fault anyone for quitting D3. I just lament that it was D3 where I chose to get into playing that kind of game, because in terms of having a game to play with friends from here or whom I personally know, it's all for naught.
Heh, nah, it wasn't LSL. First LSL experience was in grade school.
Am I remembering SQ1 wrong? I know there was an adventure game of some kind that I played on that Tandy where the guy got drunk at a bar.
I get multiplayer games because I like them as is, and if someone else is playing than cool bonus. People are generally going to move on to other things if they can afford them, it's just how attention goes. Personally, I play a lot of games so if someone wants me to specifically join them there needs to be some type of outside contact like texting or messaging on the chat here or something. I'll gladly play D3 with other people (and have it installed right now) but I'm not going to leave it open on the off chance that someone I know logs on while I could be playing something else.
Come to think of it, my first online multiplayer was MK2 with Xband.
Console Game: Pac-Man (the fake ass Atari 2600 version)
Online Multiplayer Game: Rise of the Triad (against friends that lived in the house directly behind mine)
LUDICROUS GIBBS!!!
Ha, I don't remember that game for shit, we played for a few months or so and went right back to playing the Saturn and PSX...Haven't really played many PC games since that era...No good fighting games on the PC was a big drawback for us.
I don't think my buds and I ever played it past the shareware levels, despite a few of us buying the full version. It was all about fucking around, using the ridiculous cheat codes, and WANTON AND GRATUITOUS VIOLENCE (so said the warning on the back of the package.)
JRPG?
Miracle Warriors. Had a friend with a SMS and about 30 games back then, we would swap systems every so often. Miracle Warriors and Phantasy Star were among the bundle of games he owned. I distinctly remember play it Miracle Warriors before Dragon Warrior was released and the similarities between the two is what sparked my interest in that game.
Racing game?
Pole Position
Computer game?
Oregon Trail. I remember my elemental school had a computer lab (it just occurred to me how ridiculous a computer lab in elementary school is) with Apple II's we got to play around with every few weeks.
Console game?
Either Combat or Demon Attack on the 2600.
FPS?
Doom.
Point n' click Adventure game?
Dark Earth
Online multiplayer game?
Probably Unreal Tournament
After I finished Phantasy Star, I was positively dying for another RPG, and on the SMS, that pretty much meant Miracle Warriors. It was definitely no Phantasy Star, but I still got sucked into it and beat the whole thing. Finding that last dungeon was a crazy obtuse puzzle. I don't know how I figured it out.
My experience is similar to Rumpy's.
FPS: Wolfenstein 3D. Used to play this at a buddy's, because we didn't have a computer at the time and I wouldn't have been allowed to own it even if we did. I remember firing games up in DOS back then and not being able to right-click in Windows yet.
PC: Oregon Trail at school, back when they used to use 5 1/4" floppies.
Point & click: It was either Myst or one of the Space Quests.
Multi-player: Either StarCraft (Brood War) or Rogue Spear, I don't remember which.
Console game: It was something on the 2600 (also my first console). Might've been Frogger, Asteroids or Moon Patrol. Could've been E.T., which is the first game that I played to completion.
JRPG: Lunar, The Silver Star.
Shooter: Games like Galaga and Asteroids were my first, but I didn't start to love the genre until Giga Wing 2 and Mars Matrix.
Racing game: Pole Position.
Fighting game: Mortal Kombat. I (foolishly) ignored SFII at the time, because I was seduced by MK's realistic violence.
Platformer: Probably Jungle Hunt, but I prefer to give the honor to Super Mario Bros.
Adventure game: Zelda II, TAoL. This is easily my favorite genre.
Arcade game: Table top Pac-Man at a local pizza joint. Might've been Mrs. Pac-Man.
Someone mentioned The Longest Journey. That's one that I started to play waaay back when it came out, but never finished. I've been meaning to grab it from GOG and knock it off of my Pile.
JRPG? Don't remember
Racing game? Turbo
Computer game? I played Gyruss on a C64
Console game? Pac-Man on Atari
