Whaaaat. I knew about EA and the DRM, but microtransactions? For what?
well the stream I was watching only had 8 predefined landscapes (no more terraforming) so they'll probably add more for reasonable prices, and I'm almost positive with the always-on bullshit they'll sell special properties for a buck or two each after the fact
plus ea has come right out and said "microtransactions rule" so there's literally no reason to not expect them in this game

300k is about the max you'll see. 2 square miles or something ridiculous.
EA is the worst company.
They want to you to make multiple cities to make big regions I think. Sounds like it's easier to have each city cater to one kind of economy and have them trade between them.
I got really stoked on Simcity after Idle Thumbs kept jizzing all over it. I went ahead and preordered it on amazon on friday and came to my senses on monday and cancelled it after some of the negative press started coming in.
The Amazon reader reviews are positively glowing.
