Correct, I got bored of the game sometime around that lame close quarters DLC. The interface didn't make it that easy to play those maps either.

BF4 seems to have the opposite problem:
The default maps are great, but the DLC sucks so far.
I really like Guilin Peaks and Dragon Pass. Altai Range a bit less. Silk Road is garbage, imo.
Silk Road is shit but the others are cool. Not enough people playing them on PC though. Right now there are a whopping 2 U.S. servers that have China Rising maps currently.
Finally got a chance to have a full uninterupted night of BF4 last night. And then miraculously it happened again tonight. Aside from some horrendous lag both night during peak time it was pretty stable, didn't get kicked out of a match once. Also got to try the new maps. I enjoyed them. Silk Road was a bit weird, felt like I was in the movie Dune for some reason. Whatever. If this keeps up I might be glad I didn't trade it in.
I guess nobody can truly have a problem-free Battlefield 4 experience. Today I went to play BF4 and it prompted me for an update. Once that was done installing... I couldn't log into the game. At all. It crashed on startup. Constantly. I uninstalled and am currently reinstalling. Hopefully that fixes the issue, but it's a pain in the ass.
Ya that happened to me too on the ps4. 900 meg update followed by oh you want to proceed further than the black loading screen? I'm done with battlefield for now.
The PC version required a 1.2 gig update; It's not like my 256 GB SSD isn't near full. :eep:
I played a couple of rounds last night and noticed weird sound effect problems, like gunfire from locations where nobody was at.
That was me!
Jay, you cannot post in the BF4 thread until you get premium.
Think I may be the only one still playing on TNL. Just got to 1:1 K/D after lots of horrible play at first and intermittent f'ing around. Most of my rounds now are 2 or 3:1 after learning people's habits on the various maps. The people who do shit like 45-3 in Domination are still a mystery to me, as is why anyone would play the Second Assault maps on that mode outside of Metro and Gulf of Oman.

I play on the PC. The clan I'm in runs two servers, one 64 and one 32. They stayed pretty full at the start of second assault but then emptied out. People were just tried of the BF3 maps. We are looking forward to the new DLC as the new titan mode should bring some life back into BF4.
I had to take a break for a little while. I really want custom servers on PS4. A mix of the best maps from all DLC is a must. I'm going to start playing more again. Just had a ton of stuff going on lately but its pretty much died down now.
At this point, I'd even settle for DICE putting some servers out there with all of the maps on them. I don't necessarily like all of the DLC maps, but running through just the vanilla maps most of the time does get old after a while.
Yea especially with this game, how hard is it to make a premium server and just rotate all the maps.
Server management with BF4 on PC is a nightmare.
EA's policies are so infuriating, it's ridiculous. It comes down to two choices in the end:
1. A full server with a default playlist of maps and one game type and no way to control what is happening on the server
or
2. An empty sever with moderator privileges and whatever maps and game types you want.
This will likely be the case after all the premium maps come out. BF3 is like that now. I honestly have more fun playing BF3 now than I do BF4 with all the hackers. BF4 has been crappy since second assault came out. It fragmented the servers as premium content always does.
The new maps look interesting though. Cautiously looking forward to it. But, y'know, bugs...
Clans are absolutely ruining this game.
I don't get why this game is so botched with its online servers, yet I can easily get into a match with Titanfall?
the answer lies in the clouds sir
There is something interesting about this game after all:
About time this was found out.
.....and Battlefield has officially jumped the shark.
